Dig the post.    I just finished my MSF today, and now am eagerly anticipiating getting my very own Monster.  Fun reading about the experience of someone in the same boat.  Keep updating the thread - and looking forward to seeing a few pics!

Enjoyed your post, except the part about your "boys".  haha.  You'll get much more confident about your launch speed with a little practice.  1st gear is jerky and clutch control is key.  Less so with 2nd, but you still want to be a clutch master on any bike.
