Washed my iPhone

Riddle me this. I received my replacement phone and decided to keep it even though the wet phone came back to life. I backed up the wet phone in iCloud and turned it off per instructions. Turned on the new phone and went through the steps to get it online. Through iCloud it brought back all of my data, apps notes, contacts etc., it even brought back my screen saver. All of this with the wet phone turned off. How the hell does it do that?

To protect your new phone, I recommend squirting a tube of dielectric grease in a plastic bag, then chucking your phone in after.
