Pedrosa doesn't deserve the bike he is leading the championship on? I am no Pedrosa fan by any means but that statement is...uh...well...yeah. Just don't know what to say to that.
3 years ago, I would agree with you totally but between last year and so far this year, Tinypants McConsistent is FINALLY showing a reason to be on the factory Honda.

The Bautista/Rossi incident...the first look almost looked like Rossi's fault but the overhead view clearly how Alvaro hitting him. It looks like the bikes got tangled which prevented Vale from turning in...had the bikes not gotten tangled, Rossi continues on. Oh well. Seems the second factory Yamaha has a nasty curse on it when it comes to stuff like that.

Marquez, now twice this year, has been held up by Pedrosa while Lorenzo takes off.

Honda needs to take a look at the situation and put Pedrosa at #2, Marquez had a better shot at the win then Pedrosa. and now because Pedrosa was selfish, and now twice. Honda and Marquez could be out of the championship.

No way Pedrosa wins this year. i'll bet a pizza on it. Lorenzo pulled away from him like he was in molasses. and Marquez was being a team player by not forcing a move, but you could tell he was faster.

Raux

Lorenzo "Dani was following me for about 13 laps, but on the 13th I pushed a little bit more â€" to be about three tenths faster - and it seems he gave up a little bit, so it was much easier from then.”

yep, sounds like Lorenzo thinks Dani is a real winner there.
Bet if Pedrosa would have gotten out of the way of his teammate, Lorenzo would be talking about how bad 2nd feels.

The Don

Raux, I think Dani got it right, he was pushing the maximum and those tyres were done on the Honda, so he settled for second and brought the bike home, that's call experience. Dani played it smart.

Raux

again, if Dani had left Marquez flow through, Lorenzo could have possibly been pushed into a mistake and you have a Honda 1-2 finish or maybe 1-3 finish

instead he holds up Marquez and then MM finally gets past and tries to reel in Lorenzo and loses it on the chase, which NEVER should have had to had happen.

that was the most frustrating race next to I think the first one when Dani did the EXACT same thing and held up his teammate.

oh well, guess I need to remember it's not a team sport, but wait MM didn't push Dani like he could have pushed Lorenzo, guess MM needs to learn the lesson too and start not thinking about the Honda team and start thinking about the MM squad only and if Dani gets put on his ass for blocking a faster rider than so be it.

Raux, what you're saying about Pedrosa is silly (to put it nicely). He was pushing as hard as he thought he could. Given what happened to MM, it seems he was about right. MM could have passed him at any given point during the race if he thought he was being held up that badly. Pedrosa has no obligation to let him through...this is racing. Sometimes a rider is just faster than anyone else...and today it was JLo.

Sucks on the Rossi/Bautista crash. Glad both are OK...that wall impact was brutal.

Raux

I guess it's the whole Ferrari team orders thing that gets me.
MM was definitely holding off 13 laps in. he didn't get aggressive on his teammate, but Dani was aggressive on the blocking.
watch the lines he was taking (missing), he kept going wide and then seeing that shut off the throttle and dove inside to block on MM.
I realize racing, but guess I always think team riding in this situation would have benefitted them both AND Honda.

ZLTFUL

Dani is in the business of attempting to win a championship.
Team orders don't exist this early in the season and even more so when things are so close between MM and DP.
Nothing stopped MM from passing. We saw that. But thinking that Dani should have moved over and let Marc through is naive at best.

So you think the guy leading the championship should give way to the guy that's in second place when doing that will lose the championship lead for him?

I think not.

Ridiculous statement on so many levels. To think that Honda is favoring pedrosa over the rider who is clearly the coming thing? Absurd. And by the time Marquez passes, Lorenzo was gone. Marquez wasn't chasing Lorenzo, he was trying to gap Pedrosa. And we saw where that got him. I won't even put the crash down to inexperience alone. Mugello is a really tough track for many reasons, and there are plenty of experienced riders who've struggled there.
Respeta mi autoridad!

Raux

ok maybe I was going a bit far. I just saw MM playing teammate and Dani not.

I realize Dani needs a championship. and having an upstart come in and outride him didn't help his ego.

ZLTFUL

We must not be talking about the same MM...
