My sister is currently swimming across the Strait of Girbraltar.  She and two friends are swimming both as a personal challenge and to raise money for World Reader, an organization that provides kindles/e-books to schools in Africa ( http://www.worldreader.org/ ).  They managed to raise $104,000!

Anyway, this post is just me gushing with pride and admiration, since the training is pretty intense, the water cold, not to mention cargo ships, dolphins/sharks/seaweed, open ocean swells, wind, rip tides, currents, etc.  Very proud of her.

I'm following them via GPS at:

That's some pretty cool stuff right there. She (and you) should be proud. I wish them well! [clap] [popcorn] [thumbsup]
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

80% there.  So far they've encountered dolphins, tuna, flying fish, and a Rorqual whale (whatever that is?!).

Haha.  Me too.  I definitely didn't get her swimming genes.

She said that she'd motivate for long swims by thinking: "If my body is 70% water, then only 30% of me has to swim."
