cokey

Why'd you make them so thick, looks or to stand on?  Guessing you don't need that strength for the lights...

About the goat...
His name was Bob, but the family called him BeelzeBob.
make the beast with two backs goats.

I made them that thick because I didn't know how much support the lights would need. The farther a given weight is from its support point the more ability it has to break that support.

I'm an over engineer over build type so I can make it and not worry about it ever again.

Its all about vectors
the force of a jump is in line with your forks
you standing on those mounts is a pressure on the walls of the forks

Yeah I know what you're saying.

The clamps are mounted almost right under the lower triple so I had that going for me. It was also a steady load and not a shock load.

I'd love to sell them but I don't think something like this would get a patent.

oh c'mon.....

if apple can patent a shape, so can you!

just make that shape into the logo for your business...

Trademark vs. patent of course  ;D. Seriously though, I think a patent for an attachment bracket for X LEDs to Y KTM is doable if you're serious. Not anything close to an expert though. I've gone through the process but that was with a corporate patent attorney's help.

Nice job!  [clap]

Actually, a patent does not stop anyone from copying a design. It just gives the filing originator the right to sue. If it is an ambiguous case, such as a light bracket, the attys will walk away with $$$$ and the patent holder might end up with personal satisfaction.

Also, the Chinese do not respect any restraints to copy anything they want to, and will find willing abettors on ebay. Think CRG, PAZZO, etc. The latest seems to be some Rizoma knockoffs being marketed as Pazomas; otherwise identical in form, function, and shape.

Think of all the aluminum you wasted when a roll of Duc-Tape would have sufficed [cheeky]

Nice work - as is your usual  [thumbsup]
Desmosedici - it's the new Paso (except the bodywork doesn't fit as well)
