I am starting to slowly fall in love with the look of the Sport Classic models... mainly based off my initial impression of the MH900 but I really am starting to appreciate the newer SC bikes, specifically the red 1000s model with the fairing. There was one on Ebay the other day with the long fairing kit, anyone have links to pics of a bike like this?

I know some have a more aggressive position than others, I like the Sport Classics with the clip ons really low, something about low bars the pain is worth the look in my opinion...

Anyone able to link images or a site I can look at?

Not that I'm endorsing another forum, but check out www.ducati.ms. It's ok, but is unfortunately run by the same people who now the DML.

Not the bike you specifically mentioned, but this is the Sport1000 that I just bought.

And this is another one that I think looks flippin' GREAT!!

I'm newly in love with the Sport1000 as well, but I'm partial to the fairingless version (gotta be naked!).  8)

I'm likely to be moving to the States in 6 months or so, and will be selling my newly acquired (in March) '01 M900. I may buy a Sport 1000 instead when I'm settled over there.

Is it only available in black now?   :-\

Out of curiosity, where do you live now?  I currently live in Hawaii, but for only the past year.  Before that I lived in Germany, and then the UK before that.

Are you dead set on getting a brand new one?  I wanted to get an '06 Sport 1000 (sold my S2R800 for it) simply for the dry clutch.  I also liked the monopisto design better than the bipisto.

In my humble opinion, the absolute coolest cafe SC out there belongs to LT Snyder of DesmoTimes. Whenever I see this bike I think about selling my Monster and starting a mono SC build-up:

Go to www.desmotimes.com and look up "Bikes of the Quarter" for more pics and a writeup. He's got a great collection of other Ducs as well.

WOW! that bike is amazing.

The SC bikes I think are fun to ride and they handle great but for me, the seat pan digs into the backs of my legs and the clip-ons are brutal.

Never Really thought about them that much. But now the wheels are turning
About the same time you're dragging your knees through a series of tight left-right-handers on Sunday afternoon, some guy in white shoes is sweating a 3-foot putt. Go figure.

I have ridden a few sport classics and I have to say I am a fan of the early monoshock version. the resail is poor so there should be deals out there. My fave had the same zard exhaust you see in the pictures. it is LOUD and very fun. I would change the wheels first thing as the spokers are tubed [bang]
Tubes do not belong on modern bikes, well the perelli tires that come on some are patterned from the 70's pirelli phantoms. I think they used the same compound rubber from the 70's wears like iron. [thumbsup]

sit on them and drive as many versions as you can, my friend hated the seating position . I loved it. I did not like the twin shocker. paul smarts are good too.
cheers
