I've never been a fan of clip-ons and have always preferred the look of bars, not to mention the ergos. I realize I'm likely in the minority as a great many here have gone to clip-ons.

I prefer bars so much that I switched to bars on both my ST2 and ST4 as well, and it much improved the comfort for me.

.....I swear every bike I see in motorcycle mags now is a naked/hooligan with handlebars.  New Super Duke, Naked BMW 1000rr, etc.....

Manufacturers of many things get their "inspiration" from the street/sub cultures. The fighter thing became big enough that the bigwigs were like "This is popular, we can make money off this style lets make hooligan-like bikes". Same thing happened when bobbers were all the rage a few years back. Enter crap like the Fury and the Bolt for example.  they are not hip or cool. Beethoven does not come in spray cans.
Though I will say that the bikes I mentioned and the fighter like production bikes have great foundations for modification.

If you like handle bars, regardless of their seeming popularity that's fine. Whatever makes you comfy.
