has anyone heard of the puig fender eliminator kit for the monsters as a tail chop kit? i really want to do this mod but have absolute zero knowledge on brands. all the mechanical knowledge needed for the job, just new to ducati. my bike is a 2000 m750 dark. also, once i do this, do i need another license plate light?

on another note, i would like to change or modify the bars as well... possibly lowering them to get more of an aggressive look... saw a post on here a while back about it and now i cant find it [bang] or is there a set of bars that work best as an entire swap?

thanks friends, any help or direction is greatly appreciated!!

This will get better answers in ACC&Mods...

off it goes.

No problem.

You'll acclimate to the format soon enough.

You can flip your stock bars over for more aggressive ergos or check out the brand Suburban Machinery. They make some nice replacement bars. Other than that, you can ditch the bars entirely for a set of clip-ons.

As for the tailchop, a hacksaw and a trip to the hardware store for a few brackets to hold the plate, tail-lamp and blinkers is all you need. Fairly easy stuff. (I used a small pipe cutter instead of a hacksaw. The cut it made was very clean.) A little bit of aluminum, a vise, and a drill is all you would need to make the brackets. (for much less $$$ than any kit you can buy.)

Another covet for the suburban machinery bars. They are very much like old school clubman bars, not too radical butt work great and look sharp as well.

This is more or less what I would have suggested.
Never wrestle with pigs. You both get dirty, and the pigs like it...

The only thing to keep in mind is that with the tail chopped off ,when you ride in the rain or on damp /dirty roads you will end up wearing all that sh*t up your back [thumbsdown] ,which is why I tend not to ride in bad weather . Bike looks good but ;D

I would research raised clip ons if I were you. After 5 years of Monster ownership I've finally come to terms with the fact that all the best looking Monsters have clip ons but I didn't wanna sacrifice the comfort. Never realized I didn't have to.

Dan Moto makes some really interesting looking infinitely adjustable ones for $100...perfect for an old school baby Monster. I'm getting crazy expensive IMAs though because I already lost my mind $$$ wise.

Weird, I've heard this before but I ride in the rain with chopped tail and no hugger, and my bike stays clean.  YMMV, literally.
