the discussion was about new dishwashers and today's dishwasher detergents. The education from the old repair guy was NOT to rinse stuff too much, as today's detergents need some crap in their for the enzymes to do their thing.....and that most people put too much soap in, which does not make things cleaner (think too much soap, and not enough water shaken up in an enclosed jar.)

Solution 1a- scrape, but don't rinse
Solution 1b- use the pre-packaged soap/rinse tablets

In don't scrape anything and use 1/2-2/3 liquid soap.
