Is Monster right for me?

Monster will work, but I'd get a bigger one since it isn't your 1st bike.

For a 35 mile highway commute carrying a backpack sucks IMO.  The Monster is only marginal on gravel roads IMO.  Therefore, I recommend a Multistrada 1000/1100 if you want a Duc.  Comfy on the hwy, good on gravel roads, panniers to carry work shit, and handles just as well as a Monster.    I'm probably biased though.    Only downside is it isn't as cool looking...but ya don't look at it while you're riding.
