it helps if you read that title/tagline in a kind of deep and dramatic movie-trailer-guy-narrator voice.

Yes, that's Mr. Thompson, AND the infamous Sausage Creature.   [moto]

Nice job!  But you need to include a pic of a sidecar.  [moto]

Ambition is a poor excuse for not having sense enough to be lazy.

FTR, I've never been a HST fan, and I hate that he shot himself while talking to his wife (ex ?) on the phone.

But his "Song of the Sausage Creature" is one of my all time favorite pieces of writing.  If anyone here hasn't read it I can only say two things:

1) Where have you BEEN?

2) PM me and I'll email a copy.

Ah, the good Dr.

HST Is one of the main reasons I became a writer. I've always loved that photo. If you've not read "Hell's Angels" you should. In fact, I think I'll start re-reading it this week.

Oh, and here's the story you were looking for - "Song of the Sausage Creature"

http://www.latexnet.org/~csmith/sausage.html

And one of my favorite quotes from it:

"Some people will tell you that slow is good - and it may be, on some days - but I am here to tell you that fast is better. I've always believed this, in spite of the trouble it's caused me. Being shot out of a cannon will always be better than being squeezed out of a tube. That is why God made fast motorcycles, Bubba...." - HST
