Finally decided to cut my belt covers. I went for the SpeedyMoto Legerro style. Dremel & a set of files is all it took.

Did you struggle with melting plastic?

No there was some melting but it just hardens and breaks right off pretty easily. The key for me was using a flat and round file to get the exact shape I wanted.

Nice job

Just a thought you could cut a couple of "windows" in the radius ..that would look cool

They look good. How did you decide where you were going to cut?  Did you mark them out whilst on the bike?

I made some measurements on the bike with the covers off to get an idea how much I wanted to cut then drew it out using a white colored pencil on the covers and cut them. I left a good 1/4" outside the lines I drew then used a file to get it right up to the lines I drew. Then a little sanding and paint.

Looks good!  I've thought of doing that but I'm not sure how well they would stay on.  The covers on my bike only have one screw holding each of the two end pieces on.

I just ordered the SpeedyMoto Leggero covers anyway.  My local Ducati dealer gave me a nice discount on them and I figured since my bike is now out of production the covers will also probably also go out of production eventually so if I was going to buy them now would probably be the time to do it.
