Clutch / brake lever guards... or not?

I'm in 2 minds about these, they're kinda growing on me but still a bit unsure..
What do ya's reckon?

And the left grip wants to slide off.  :(

And those guards would be pinching my pinkies... don't they pinch yours ???

And where'd you cop an oil pressure gauge that fits there?  [popcorn]

 I've seen one superbike on the street with those. Aren't those guards used in close quarters road racing action?

you dont miss much so I better go and check the left hand grip.  [roll]

I can feel it with my pinky but it dosn't get in the way.

The guage is a mooneyes item, I cant remember where I got it but it is metric 10 x 1.

It is for close quarter racing.. like spliting lanes down the freeway and not having the brake come into play when I clip a mirror of a car!   ;D

as usual you were right Speeddog.. the grips had slid about 5mm!   [thumbsup]

BTW the guards are adjustable for length and angle of the arm...

They are too much 'wannabe racer' IMO .....  and that's where I hang my helmet.

Usually I can make up my own mind , but I'm honestly in 2 minds on this one...

And yeah, I'm a wannabe racer. Most road bikes are derived from race bikes... and it does have a practical function, IE; the cliping mirror thing...

I split lanes in L.A. for the better part of 15 years.  Never felt the need for the guards with shorty levers. 
Two things I don't do.  Keyboard bullies and hypocrites.

If you would have asked this a month ago I would say its a rare case of a race use part having no real application on the street.

then a friend of mine who uses his 1199 as a daily as well as a race bike was running them when he punched a deer at 60+. he didnt drop the bike, the only reason for that is that the lever guard prevented the deer from locking up his brakes.

broke his hand in 3 places but it would have been WAYY worse without it.

so yeah, sometimes "barkbusters" make sense on sportbikes.
