Ohio State!

Er...wait...  ;D

What's that? I can't here you over all the crickets in the empty big house.

Maybe this is the wrong thread for me to be talking about Michigan Football, I'll move it to the DMF joke thread.

The Criminoles have not looked like the #1 team in the nation.

I agree though they should get better as the year goes on.  I think Alabama is a bit over-rated too. Too much credit for beating a bad Florida team.

I want to say Oklahoma is the best team in the country right now but Stoops usually finds a way to lose a game he shouldn't.  In my eyes they are the most complete team in the country.

Oregon is obviously really good too.  Marriotta playing really well so far.

I think all of the poles are reaching for some way to stay relevant in the new era of a NCAAF playoff system. That said, there is still the same old bias for the SEC..... :P

the best thing about college football is that it (in general) keeps the 18 to 25 yr old prison population lower than it would be otherwise  ;D

Last weekend was a crazy one.  Always happens when a highly ranked team loses on Thursday night.

I guess I was wrong on both Oregon and Oklahoma.  Oregon has big issues on the offensive line.  I still expect them to win the PAC-10 and make the playoffs.

SEC is looking more vulnerable.  Still can't believe Indiana beat Missouri in their own stadium.

I'm thinking that for the 1st year of the playoffs they will take all conference champions.

Where you at Zilbert? Maybe headed to the Penn State game tomorrow? Just buy a couple of Cokes and you can get in for free!!!!!

Seriously I hope Michigan beats Penn State this week so ticket prices for the OSU game at Happy Valley come down.

As long as the playoffs depend on the polls to define the teams, we will always have issues.

Technically they are supposed to not count on the polls.  We really have no idea how the committee is going to handle picking the teams.

I think we all know that they will use the polls

You're welcome.  [cheeky]

On a more serious note though, the entire Big Ten is ugly. I mean the Hawkeyes and the Gophers have the same conference/overall records as the "best" team in the conference. If I was your Buckeyes, I wouldn't be looking past Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights seem to have everything to fight for: being 1 win away from bowl eligibility, wanting to make a name for themselves in the new conference and having a dangerous offense.
Even a weakened SEC is still way more than the Big Ten can handle.

I'm sure the team is taking them very seriously.  They have played a super weak schedule though. It's going to be hard for them to go to the Shoe and beat OSU in front of 108,000.  I'll be there welcoming them here for the first time.

While Gary Nova has played well the last couple of games he has a propensity to make bad decisions when pressured and will be going up against the best dline in the conference. On the other side of the ball if OSU's oline can give JT any time at all their skill position players are better than anything Rutgers has seen.

???

I'm confused...according to the Big Ten conference stats page, that would be flat out incorrect...
