I've been following this for a few months and contacted ADVmonster about options. Just in case anyone is interested I tried fitting the Native H4 (http://stores.advmonster.com/native-h4/) in the stock S2R metal bucket. ADVmonster thought I would have to cut out the stock mushroom cap/shroud inside the stock unit so the Native H4 would fit. To our surprise, it fit perfectly in the H4 slot.

The problem was that since the Native H4 is slightly longer, and I mean maybe by 1-2 millimeters, I was not able to seal up the headlight. You can install and clip the bulb in place but the only way to close everything back up is to cut a hole out of the back end of the bucket. At that point if I was going to cut a hole in the bucket I would probably just go with the H4 R3 which is a newer design/brighter LED.

I can dig up pics of the Native H4 fitment if anyone is interested. Not a huge deal for me since I don't do a lot of night riding anymore, just thought it would be a nice upgrade.

Interested in your review of the H4 R3 Speeddog.

Better late than never, I suppose.

To fit the H4R3 into the steel bucket, you have to cut a hole in the back like so:

Not enough room inside for the magic box or the plug.
Really odd, as there was room for all of that inside the later model plastic bucket.
If I decide to keep it, perhaps I'll put together a dedicated harness to eliminate that 3-prong plug and tidy it up.

The mesh heatsink does poke out, but can fold back inside.
Fitted it to my '98 M750, takes a bit of fiddling around to get all of that stuff positioned so that there's no fighting with the other stuff behind the headlight.
Likely a bit easier on gen2 bikes with no speedo cable.

Pic of the light pattern on low beam:

In person the lighting is better than it appears in the pic.
Sorry, no pic on high beam, because.......

......in the meantime.......

I picked up one of their SS25 lightbars.

They've discounted the price quite a bit, I just couldn't resist:
http://stores.advmonster.com/ss25-light-bar/

It comes with it's own 2-pin plug, and a pigtail.
You can see it in my first pic, the grey and orange connector, spliced into the high beam circuit of the 3-prong plug.

Whacked out some brackets, and mounted it up.

Here's the pic of it on, along with the high beam of the H4R3.

Again, it's better in person.

I'll try to get set up with my real camera to fix all pics to one shutter speed/Fstop, and have the wiring accessible to isolate each light.

More of a cautionary tale than anything else.

I bought one of these a couple years ago, and ran it on my M750 for a while.
Light output was phenomenal, but the pattern was not good, I don't need to be trying to spot planes at night.

A customer brought one in, and I fitted it to his M750.

Fitted it up, tested it on the lift, all good.
Started the bike the next day, and immediately magic smoke started escaping.

Pic shows the BBQ'd red wire.
Apparently the transformer died, seems a direct short from power to ground, not a huge deal.

Except, there was a 20 Amp fuse in the holder on that red wire.
That wire is a shade lighter than 20 gauge (I counted the strands and measured their diameter).
Which makes it good for maybe 9 amps.
Luckily id didn't damage anything else, or light the freshly-restored M750 up in my shop.

So, it's worthwhile to check electrical stuff before installing.

I just purchased and installed Opt7 Fluxbeam on my 2012 1100Evo with no issue. Pattern looks really good. It was easy and simple plug and play.

I was very close...so close that I did buy but then cancelled my order from Cyclops Adventures (CIL-LED-H7 4000 Lumen H7 LED Headlight) but just could not justify the $20 difference with 1yr less warranty for 500 lumens more.

I ordered mine from Amazon using prime and received it the next day.

Overall for now, I am super happy.

Pretty much exact same process...took me 10min

I read some reviews that said the lights would burn out intermittently after a bit of use. How has your experience been so far?

No issues so far but I ordered from amazon and spoke with them through FB so if I have some issues, they will be going back.

So I bought an LED headlight assembly. I've created a project by getting it but I'll post pics and update when I'm done.

Ok here's the finished product. Not sure how I feel yet, I think I like it.  What do you guys think.

looks bright.  What unit is that?
It's a China knock off of a Daymaker for Harley's. A lot of Jeep guys use them. I wasn't expecting much for the price but it's pretty impressive. I haven't ridden at night yet though.
