In short, will Ducati Monster 796 Termignoni racing ECU non ABS  work properly on 796 with ABS? What is difference between this two  ECU-s ? I'm a novice at this, so please be patient  [Dolph]

No. The speedometer will be substantially off. My local dealer accidentally ordered a non ABS kit for my 796. I pulled out of the parking lot and my speedo said I was doing 185 then started flashing lines. I pulled back into the shop at a screaming 150 and told them to get me a new ECU. Instead they took $300 off my cost and flashed my OEM ECU for a racing tune.

Now my Termi ECU is a paperweight.

Thanks for the information.  [thumbsup]
I have the opportunity to buy a new Termignoni carbon kit for 796 with non-ABS ECU for $ 750.
Sell the racing ECU and flash my OEM ECU, is it worth it?

That's a steal. If grab it up. My bike runs great with the flashed ECU. The only difference from the Termi ECU is my cluster doesnt display "race" when it starts up. Other than that, no one would know its not all Termi.

maybe you should do a deal amongst yourselves.

there are two version of the conti ecu, with a different part #.  early on it was abs and non abs, then they seemed to use the later # on all of them.  maps are "different" too, in some format/code way, so you can't flash one into the other.

I'm pretty sure he has an ABS 796 just like I do. I wish I could find someone that had a non ABS 796 with an ABS ECU sitting around. I'd be more than happy to trade.

You could also flash the DP ECU so you could go back to stock if you wanted to.
