To Viñales, it must feel like the wall he is banging up against is one of technical limitations. There is merit in that, but great riders, champions, accept that is part of the game, and find a way to ride around those limitations, finding strengths elsewhere. Viñales lacks the ability to do that.

It is perhaps his ambition and his will to victory which prevent him from doing that. He gets an idea in his head, figures out a plan, and sticks to it come what may. He believes it should work, and refuses to believe when it doesn't work.

Head case. No lack of talent, but definitely a lack of flexibility

There’s only a handful of guys in MotoGP that can win. Pushing beyond the limits. MM cruised through the back markers last week in a few laps. Once he caught up to the back of the top 10, not so easy to get by. Like all sports there’s folks that have that extra gear. You see this in all major sports.

Maybe Rossi can snag Mav for his team to ride alongside Marini? Couldn't be any worse than Rossi riding? Then he could coach them. Imagine having Rossi's support and wisdom at your disposal!

I’ve only been watching MotoGP racing closely for about 20 years (says the old guy without intending any irony  ;D )

Dani has to be one of the most successful racers, wins and podiums, not to win a premier class title, no?
Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed.
