2014 696, 100 miles on the clock and im getting a vague neutral light....anyone else dealing with this, am I being too nit picky? don't want to hand a problem over to the wife next month when she gets her endorsement and stuff worked out, light will sometimes just not light at all till I test with the clutch, sometimes ive obviously just gone past it coming from second while approaching a light, a few times searching has caused me to grind first at 15-20mph, not a huge issue but frustrating for a bike with 100 miles. liveable if its no big deal, if anyone has been into a new tranny and can tell me if this is just "how its gonna be" id really feel relieved.

Probably just needs to be broken in.

Maybe just a position adjustment will help it.

It's under warranty, just roll in for service call if it is real concern.

And welcome to you both. [thumbsup]

600, im gonna mention it to them tonight when I swing by to get my paperwork that I left with them last week, all the owners manual junk and stuff. ill run it by the service department head who's a good friend of mine, if its no big deal to him ill just have them pay close attention to that area at the first service.

edit: everything else is cherry tho, motor has pepped up a bit from when I first picked it up, revs more freely, pulls a little harder, could be a density altitude change tho, once I know a bike really well I can feel density altitude changes, especially on carb'd machines

Ducati is the pretty girl that can't walk in heels without stumbling. I still love her.

Mine always worked like a champ, in both 750 and 900 motors!

Must be a new F.I - ECU thang. The neutral light on the carby motors is a banjo bolt "sender" of sorts, with a wire from that to the dash.

Is it the light or is it hard to locate neutral ?
I know with my Missus 696  (@ 20,000 k's ) it is hard to get it into neutral while stationary.
It goes in easily while still moving as you pull up to a stop light, but hard to find when already stopped.

That's every bike I've ever owned.

Well the dealership knows about it and advised me that the first service will tell us more and that it's no concern at the moment, it will be monitored, from today's riding it seems better when I whip on her a little harder in general, stronger launches especially seem to put the tranny in a better 'mood' over all, went on a big loop around town with a couple short bursts on the highway interchanges, everything was dandy banged thru the box without fault, edged up on 100 for just a second or two, everything seems to be settling in excellently

That bike takes a good 1,500+ miles to loosen up.  [roll] ;D
