I get 2-3 business cards a week left under a wiper blade asking if I want to sell it.

Sell it to me.

Seriously.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

That's a pretty nice truck.. I love watching this demo.  I wanted a TRD Tacoma for years but never pulled the trigger.. My Rubicon unlimited jeep doesn't have this function, but I havent ever got stuck in the sand either.  Between good tires and a good crawl ratio. My jeep is pretty good.  My dodge ram on the other hand got buried bad and I had to get rescued by a jeep..  Stupid street tires!!

Got my first glimpse of the new truck today. It was being driven to a local dealer. It was a 'burnt' orange color, and it looked fantastic.

It's called "Inferno"

I just picked up my double cab off road version today.  After 30 miles, I'm in love.  Much quieter & smoother on the road.  Handles great on-road.  The new drivetrain (all new V6 and new 6spd auto) is amazing.  On surface streets at 30-35 mph, it's turning at 1,100-1,200 RPM.  I'm headed across the state and a few mountain (11,000ft) passes this weekend.  I'll let you know how it does.

Mine is this combination:

650 miles on the new rig so far.

It's still awesome.

Drove from Denver to Grand Junction (~240 each way) over the weekend with a few friends, a couple bikes and our gear.  The truck did great performance wise on the highway (including two mountain passes at 11,000ft).  Unfortunately, there were strong headwinds on the way out Friday, so fuel economy wasn't great at ~18 MPG for the first tank.  Coming back today, it was closer to 19.5 MPG, crossing the same passes.

I think you'll see some other cool commercials/vids for the Tacoma.  We saw one with the guys from Dude Perfect at our national dealer meeting a few weeks ago.

Everyone needs crawl control. I used to go to a remote beach to go night fishing. Every time I went, there was someone there that needed to get towed off the beach. It got so that I would carry chains in the bed when I went fishing, and then after a while I would just start parking back at the campground and walking down to the beach with the nets and buckets.  :P

If those guys had that they could get out. maybe.

This is night fishing BTW.

So we had our launch training in Phoenix this week.

We used the off road course at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park (formerly Firebird Raceway) - http://www.racewildhorse.net/index.php/at-the-park/off-road-racing

We had a couple short courses set up within this complex to demonstrate crawl control, articulation, competitive comparison, etc.

Ken Gushi (of Formula Drift fame) was one of our pro drivers who led some of the demonstrations throughout the day.  He also took a select group around the full course in full drift and airborne mode (turning VSC off, of course).

I was able to take a few laps myself.  All I can say is:  [evil] ;D  [thumbsup][evil] ;D [thumbsup] [evil] ;D  [thumbsup][evil] ;D  [thumbsup][evil] ;D [thumbsup]

what trails are you taking?  I'm usually the idiot in the F250 crew cab blocking the "short wheel base only" trails......but I've made it to Engineer Pass and many more.   [evil]
