i thought the FXX was not street legal, at least not in the US.

Don't think owners anywhere in the world can actually take possession of the FXX (i.e. drive it home or on the street). Ferrari maintains and delivers the vehicle to approved tracks for the driver (talk about a shofer). Drive it and then they do maintenance and store car.

They specifically referred to the car as 'road legal' in the video. I don't know otherwise.
