NHRA/IHRA rules are boring. They levy their rules on participating tracks. Innovation is bad, fuel is only allowed in two classes that are basically spec racers (TF dragsters and TF motorcycles).

As fun as watching other racing, but watching racing is like watching other people make the beast with two backs... it doesn't compare.

Yeah... Southeast AZ. Nearest track is Tucson, under new management went to NHRA, can't post a set of rules that match a schedule. I can't build a car I want to run to those specs.

I'd love to put the 62 Midget on a V8 diet of blown nitro, but I have nowhere to put that to use. Anything less feels like... second base. It's already technically illegal for LSR because of mods done by the "road rally" guy (who bought the car for $50 in the mid 60s and won't let me sell it because of nostalgia[roll]).

Yeah, Pro Mod might as well be spec cars, too. I get all excited about drag racing until I read the rules... bracket racing is boring and nearly any other "nationwide" class has devolved into what amounts to a spec car from an SCCA standpoint.

Next it will be like NASCAR....

I'm not arguing against the show, mind you. I'm arguing against building a car and going racing... which in the end is what I want to do.
