This is all done in humor. You know, jokes and stuff. If you feel the need to take something intended to be humorous (regardless if you thoght it was funny or not) and nit pick the semantics and start the eye rolling, well, that to me is like pissing in the punch bowl. Which is why I award you todays LIGHTEN UP FRANCIS award. Congratulations.

Funny. My comment was made in humor too. I believe if a certain thread is offensive or annoying to not read or participate in it. Sometimes messages are misunderstood. I will willingly accept your award, but no, I was not adding anything nasty to the punch bowl. Sorry you took it that way.

speaking of TOB... i tried to get on and check on george's oil thread as well as some other things.. but couldn't login.  automated password thingee didn't work, and email to admins about it has gone unanswered for about a week.  Guess they don't want my patronage.

General Monster Forum hasn't had a new post in two weeks!  

You ought to check out the Dallas/Ft.Worth (dfw) forum. It's a f#@king ghost town. You can hear the crickets. I cruise by to try and snag strays that do not know the history. Have learned to code my posts so I won't be axed by the "soup nazis"! Have rescued several. Just a bummer over there... sad.

I know it's getting old but for some reason I just couldn't resist checking back into the old board.  Kinda like peeking at an accident scene...I know .  There was an ad that just made me burst out laughing placed in the middle of a thread about a guy's rear tire squirm.

The whole episode with TOB (to which I admittedly arrived somewhat late, just as the exodus was taking place) reminds me of the following quote:

"The Net interprets censorship as damage and routes around it."

...which is usually attributed to John Gilmore at the EFF.

It's easy to see that the DMF is the logical and predictable outcome of making unwanted changes to TOB, then trying to censor people who disliked the changes, or who offered alternatives.  The whole attempt at censorship was doomed to fail from the outset, I think.  Good lesson in how TeH Intarnet works.
