I can only imagine what this thing will bring.

And I love that the car was never subjected to a nicer-than-it-ever-was restoration, rather left with all the patina intact.

I'm a huge fan of patina but the shredded seat upholstery rubs me the wrong way for some reason.

i have had guys reach back and grab my crotch in an attempt to get around me. i'll either blow in their ear or ask them politely to let go of my wang.

A little black duct tape would fix that right up.

Once pulled up next to an original fibreglass bodied Cobra in original racing green colour, unrestored. Local owner and office bearer of the club kept it unrestored.

There is a local factory making replicas, I guess that's my only chance.

IIRC, all the original ('60s) cars were aluminum-bodied.....

There's a 289 car locally that I haven't seen in years. It's red and one of very few that was built with an automatic trans, completely original. I first (and last) saw it 15-20 years ago at a classic car roll-in and assumed that it was a replica, but when I got closer I could see the patina and where a snap for the top had pulled through the body metal, leaving a burred hole in the aluminum.

Back then the guy was only allowed by his insurance company to put on a few miles per year due to the car's value. I'll bet that's the reason it disappeared entirely.  :-\

Maybe it was alloy, memory is dim. The paint was faded and he said he left it that way. He had nos bodywork hanging up in the shed. It was a quick  conversation at the traffic lights. A common occurrence I bet.

That would make a nice car for track days.

Best part about the aluminum body is dents can be hammered out.

Maybe swap the engine out for a big block though.

I don't think the early chassis is the best match for a big block.

Leave it alone and drive the snot out of it.
