Went for a quick spin, broke the inner tie rod joint, crossed four lanes of traffic, swatted a billboard pole, and took a 30 or so foot nose dive over a bank.  I somehow walked away.  My 280 is done though, going to part the good pieces like the Mikuni triples out I suppose.

Oh man-the poor car.

Sorry to hear about it-glad you're okay.

Wow! Glad you were able to walk away. Good thing the kiddo was not with you.

First and foremost - I'm glad you're alright.

Second (a very distant second), I remember when you posted the first photos of that car, and loved it at first sight. I'm sad to hear of its demise.

I'm sad for the car, it needed a lot of work but I loved it.

I've very surprised I came away in one piece.  It was so fast I remember a jerk to the right, flash of green (me going through a stand of pines I've learned) and being at a stop a little confused.

It's definitely going out for parts, it's not one that can be rebuild.  The whole back half of the car is mostly ok.  The Miknui triples are certainly going to go for sale, and I'll give it a few weeks if people want any of the glass (all the glass is intact believe it or not) and things like that and the short block.  Maybe the transmission is ok too.

Same here on the glad you extricated unscathed, or close to it.

Speedbag

Glad to hear you made it out unscathed. Too bad about the car, I was looking forward to seeing what you did with it.

I don't feel bad for the car at all.  It's a machine afterall and they're not scarce...
