Just a quick ride up to Starbucks tonight, just to stretch the monster's legs.

I was inside for about 2 minutes when a guy by the window yells, "Hey, some guy just ran into your bike"

S.O.B. My heart sank so fast. I turned around and there she was, lying on her left side...

So the old guy apparently didn't see it parked behind him, just backed up to get out of his parallel spot, and bumped it. I actually had to chase him down the street.

So... no tank ding, so that's good, though it did chip the paint on the tank.

The standard, bent clutch lever, trashed my bar end mirror, broke the left footpeg off, muffler on the side is scuffed a bit, and the bars have an ever so slight tweak to them.

So sigh... paint is the worst thing I guess.

what an ass for not stopping

Yeah, he said he didn't notice, I wouldn't normally believe that, but he's an older guy, he seemed a bit out of it, I almost think he was probably on some meds.

Michigan is no-fault... so my insurance has to cover it either way...

Bummer man... Just happened to me last Sunday.  Someone mentioned about checking these tabs that are welded on the head-tube?! if they break, dealer would total the bike?! Not quite sure on the details, but I'm sure some here will know the right answer.  Glad you were able to get the guy too!  Hope you get the bike fixed soon!

Fortunately I had the steer tube locked, so that took the brunt of it, not the steering stops.

Dude, at least you weren't on it when the old guy backed into it!  It could always be worse.  Keep us posted on how the newfound project unfolds.
If it's got two wheels and a motor, I like it!

Sorry to hear that man. Eventually it will liklely catch up to us all I supose. ake the best of it and do some mods, keep smilling and learn a bit more about your bike. At leasdt it wasnt your  [bacon] on the bike.
About the same time you're dragging your knees through a series of tight left-right-handers on Sunday afternoon, some guy in white shoes is sweating a 3-foot putt. Go figure.

sorry about your bike...

some old people are scary drivers  :-\
the fact that he didn't see your bike is one thing,
but he also didn't notice he knocked it over?

Well annually might be a bit much, but I'm definitely on board with testing as we age, maybe every 2 or 3 years.

I know, it's hard to believe he didn't notice, I mean he knocked it from right to left, so he had to push it all the way over the kick stand.

-Sounds like the bike escaped without any serious "injuries"..

At least you saw him!! Imagine if you were paying for your coffee or whtever and just missed the guy, then you would've been REALLY ticked off!!  >:(
