Considering how overloaded the power grid is in general as-is, what's going to happen when the big move to all-electric vehicles happens?

(I personally think IC engines still have a long future....)

It’s all relatively early in development. Things will be different after we’re all dead and gone.  Who knows where it will end up.

Agreed, Germany had the same growing pains. Hopefully we learn from the mistakes of others while reducing the expense of making our own.
