Adam Waheed of Motorcyclist rides the 2021 Ducati Multistrada at the official launch in California. It is a glowing report.  He does ride the Multistrada in the desert. Watch for when he almost eats it when the front end plows in the deep sand.  It is easy to do even on a all out  dirt bike.
