Access to the 696 Battery

Is there a quick way to access the battery on a 696 short from removing the gas tank? Honestly, I think that this bike was designed by a screw-happy chimpanzee!

while youve got it opened up,
add some leads for your trickle charger/ jumpers,
then you wont have to dig in there again....
i did.
just run 10 inches or so and ziptie it to the frame...
