Monster in question: 2007 S2R1K

I am looking at getting a full exhaust system and opening up the airbox.  What do I need to get to be able to tune the bike and unleash the awesomeness of my 2V?

DP ECU + PCIII? (will I need some kind of O2 eliminator I keep hearing about?)

DP ECU all by itself ?

What about the HM ECU kit others have mentioned is that "tuneable"?

Thanks

You won't need the DP ecu and the PC III, I have just put a PCIII on my 2V with open airbox and cored cans, but will need to get it properly set up on a dyno.

It use to be this way but the only way you will be able to get to dp ecu is to drop over 2k for the tremi full system.  I dont now if you can or not now, but to my understanding, you can not buy the dp ecu separate.

you can buy the dp ecu by itself (could a couple months ago) But you probably wont want to at the price. If you are buying a dp exhaust system it should have a ECU with it and you will be fine, open airbox and all. be sure to have the tps reset after installing the new ECU.

you will want the dp ecu to get rid of the o2 sensor and then you can tune it like a normal (old school) duc.

I did not know that.  It use to be that it was only available as a bundle.  So how much is it separate?

A complete kit from Ducati performance is the best answer in the long run.  You can count on this stuff, it's warranted and it's designed by the people who designed and manufactured the bike. Who knows most about Ducatis? Ducati? Maybe?

Look on the Ducati.com site. Parts no. 979A00107 is for the headers and # 96448206B is for the carbon cans, ECU, and cut airbox top.

Look around. I got my whole kit for $2150 and one hour shop time for install - course I had to come home and adjust to get a perfect fit. $1200 is way too much to pay just for the ECU alone, even if it is the only game in town.

Absolutely TRANSFORMS the bike and sounds wonderful to boot. [thumbsup]

PS. DP ECU tuneable? No, but they don't have to be. They are pretty much perfect once TPS and sync is done after install. They are tunable in that if you want to, you can put a PCMusb on top of the DP ECU and dyno tune that.
