696 - Remove Mirror Mounts

Hi all,

Just picked up my 696 last Tuesday. It's my first Ducati and I'm loving it  ;D (now that I have the more comfortable touring seat!)

Anyway... here's my question: I have some Oberon bar end mirrors arriving next week and want to replace the rear clamp on the handlebar brake lever assembly that has the existing mirror mounts with one that have none.

I know I could just flip the existing ones over to clean up the look, but I think they would get dangerously close to hitting the tank on full lock. I've done quite a bit of searching online, but haven't been able to find what I'm looking for... probably I don't actually know what the part is called.  [roll]

Can anyone help?

Just had mine flipped around yesterday since I put bar ends on over the weekend.  If you go that route, it doesn't come close to hitting the tank at full lock.

Hey all...

Thanks for the replies. Looks like the route of least resistance is flipping the clamp... so that's what I'll do.

Happy riding!  [moto]
