I'm curious as to what kind of a deal your dealer is giving you.

The reason is that you can get a set of the 4 pad calipers and a radial master from a 999 on ebay pretty cheap these days and the difference is night and day between the goldlines and the 999 setup.

The 999 setup requires wheels, and forks to be swapped as well as calipers. I found out the hard way when I decided to use 999 wheels on my Monster. I'll need to get the 999 forks to go with the wheels due to the rotor offset of 15mm. Either that or sell off the wheels.

EDIT: My bad, you were talking about the calipers only, not the whole deelio.

I looked at Ebay and a number of options (spoke to Cycleworks and looked at MotoWheels)
So when I asked for a price from my dealer I expected it to be well over a thousand $$$ (I only mentioned that I was looking at upgrading the brakes, it was then he advised he had it in stock)

He's going to supply and fit for me for well under a thousand!
I looked at this Kit and the best I could find it for overseas was about $650 (Aussie) + Shipping ($100 roughly) and then fitting (I'd rather get this fitted by a professional, Brakes are one thing I don't mess around with, I'll change pads and bleed them, but anything I else I'd rather let a specialist do it)

So for near on the same amount of money, I'll get them supplied, fitted and setup, better brake pads, and maintain my Factory warranty.

And a side note: The guys cracked open the Kit yesterday and confirmed it is a coffin style Master cylinder and yes it is slightly larger to suit the 4 piston kit.
I think when they start to die/leak/weep at a later time, I'll upgrade them then to the Cup style Masters.
The Coffins will do for now.

Thanks for all the advice and Info Guys  [thumbsup]

I looked into this option a couple years ago.  At that time, I could have gotten it shipped for $550.  How long do you have on your warranty?

It took some time but if you look at the "parts for sale" you will find deals for half of what your dealer is asking.  It is up to you.  I just took the other route and bought stuff used.

Someone is selling goldline rotors and calipers with lines for 360 shipped.  You will not have a MC but you can fine a cup master for sale on the board for about $120 ish give or take about $20.  That is $600 for rotor, calipers and upgraded MCs for both clutch and brakes.

Frightening part is, I'm only paying a about $150 more and all the parts are new, supplied and fitted.
With Factory warranty on the parts and I maintain my warranty on the bike (15 months left)

Also most shipping will not cover to Australia, so by the time I take shipping charges into account, the bill gets much higher. (The joys of being on the other side of the planet to most of the major suppliers)

But thanks for looking around OwnyTony, I always try to keep an open mind to Ideas, but in this case my dealer is just trying to clear an Item he has no other way of selling. they have always looked after me so I can't complain.

I placed a deposit down late yesterday.  [thumbsup]

OOO, did not know you was in Australia.  Different story there.   Lots of parts available here where shipping is not a big an issue.  I paid $277 for front brakes and rotors and another $100 for both MCs (no levers, but i was going to upgrade to after market anyways).
