I find it disturbing that you're imagining me in a sauna, never mind the teletubbie aspect of it

What? Like the fact that scientists found a way to move light particles faster than the speed of light thus proving Einstiens theory on time travel? That one freaks me out a little. Here's a new one I just found:

http://www.universetoday.com/2009/06/30/device-makes-radio-waves-travel-faster-than-light/

He Man

That article was complete bs on the account that it had no information on what the device was doing. So I cant really comment on "moving a light particle faster than light" cause it makes no mention of actually doing that. The writer sure did sound like she messed up the main idea of the scientist she was interviewing though...

Im no expert, but i know you can make things appear as if they were traveling faster than light, but the end result of appearing is perspective based, not actually moving a light particle faster than light.

I wish there was more on that. But this whole stuff is pretty make the beast with two backsing crazy to begin with.

No no. That article was on radio waves traveling faster than light. Here is a link to the article on Backwards pulse propagation(light faster than light):
http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/abstract/312/5775/895

You'll have to register to see the whole article, but basically what happens is that as the light passes through a gas(ebrium?) at certain intervals through a fiber optic cable. The obstruction of the gas causes the light wave to be "Backed up", much like ocean waves hitting a reef, the forward face of the wave compensates by moving faster in an arc than the speed the wave is traveling. The speed of light. So, in the ocean, the current may be going 5-10 MPH, the forward face of the wave can travel in eccess of 30 mph. That's the way my psuedo-educated mind understands it. I've lost my old links, but I have the full article with links in a PDF. PM me if you want it.
