I have the Termignoni, it looks brilliant, but I was disappointed the the quality.  It looks great now, but I had do a bit of modifying to get it to fit and to get my plate on it. Key hole was too small and not notched, the license plate light holes didn't align with the light, so I had to elongate them to get it on and then none of the holes lined up with the plate holes... so I had to elongate my plate holes to get it on. Afterwards I had these tails hanging down, so I cut them off too. It looks good now, and in person you wouldn't be able to tell I did any modify to make it work.

One big plus about the termignoni plate thingy, is the rear blinkers are braced/reinforced with metal... making them a lot stronger and a lot less likely to break if you accidentally kick them.

thanks. I did it for looks and also for the heat. I wasn't sure if it was going to cut down temp, but it really did. And the header is sooo yellowish/bronze that I think it looks really weird smack in the middle of the silver and black. As a winter project, I might pull the whole exhaust off and wrap. And I'll most likely pull the heat guards off the cans too. I'll need to cut/grind off the mounts for a smooth look. Someone else did that on this forum and it looks super clean.

sorry, long story, but no plates to show on it. BUT the old temp plates fit on it and were 1/2 inch longer. so no black piece hanging down.

 You have to be very careful when you remove the brackets that are tacked onto the pipe as it is very thin and there is little room for error. On the first side I did I almost went to far meaning you can almost see through the pipe where I ground the tack smooth. The header tape totally protects who ever dares ride on the back. I use my VFR for all double riding duties and hope to locate a set of rearsets to rid the bike of the passenger pegs. I've since wrapped the header section with the black tape too.

on the MotoWheels project 696 I think they've put a set of rearsets on there. Might what to check it out.

I just finished putting mine on also, and like you, I'm wondering what the two ears hanging down below the number plate are for . The picture shows another plate that is supposed to bolt to it with a reflector, but it isn't there. I will probably cut them off too. And also, did you ever get the turn signals to mount up correctly? Mine are now crooked and there doesn't seem to be any way to make them sit straight.

i think the DP short tail is made for the European plate size which is about double the height of theUS plate.

Like stated above, the plate bracket is not made for US plates, but I don't think the stock plate bracket (has reflectors on it) fits either.  If you just elongate your holes on your plate (out) a little then the plate will match up.  I used a washer behind the plate (so it will sit against the aluminum) and then a bigger washer on the front side.  I used a dremel, but I am good with a dremel, if you are worried about taking too much off then use a file.  Figured out where the plate will sit and then marked off the bracket and cut off the excess, rounded the corners and used a sharpie to hide the aluminum where I cut it.  Sharpies on aluminum come out semi-flat which matches alright, esp since it is not seen and I did not want to buy paint.

My turn signals look fine.  They sit at a slightly different angle (slightly more down), but they are even.  Make sure you got them on the correct side.  Along the top/bottom there is a notch in the black plastic (where it meets the clear) in the middle, that should point down.  Also makes sure your blinkers are seated into the plastic evenly and correctly. 

Can you post pictures of how yours looks?  lets see what is going on

This is what the taillight gap looks like, I have taken it apart two more times to try and make them fit better. Its not a big deal, I just wish they would sit flush. And notice I still have the plate zip tied on, gotta get the dremel out.

It does look like your right side is slightly more forward, but not enough to worry about.  I'm sure stock isn't always even.  Mine do have a slight gap in them, but a little smaller than yours.  I reduced mine when I installed it by fiddling with the metal braces and got it pretty good.   The termi plastic is thinner than the stock at the blinker mount and seems a lot more flexible.   Honestly, IMO, it looks like it is only a 1mm or so and would say it is good enough.  If you look over your bike closely you will find a lot of things that aren't even and/or don't fit up right... like how the seat fits up against the gas tank cover.  Nobody will ever notice.

Termi looks good on the bike, but I was very disappointed with the fit/finish of their product


Hey do you have a whole picture of your bike?  I'm thinking of getting termi carbon system for mine.  And I'm not meaning to thread steal.
