If anyone planing on doing this trackday needs a front tire I have a brand new pr-1 michelin.  This is not the racing front tire (racing one is shaped like a slick this one is shaped like a street tire) that I use or my bike is set up for.  Anyway $100 I can bring it up to the track and you can get it mounted for cheep there.  Like I said brand new with the stickers still on.  Let me know by wed night [bacon]

[roll] Alright, due to the overwhealming offers from people to take some laps on their bikes, I think I'll stay for the trackday. I've had offers to ride about 5 different bikes, all of which I'm very excited to do. So, I'll probably stay...I'm working on details.

Does anyone need takeoffs for this day? I've got Dunlop 209s (DOT race tires) they are 160 rear/120 front, and Dunlop slicks (UK version) 165 rear/125 front. The slicks rock!
Still in good shape...you can have them cheap! $40 a set.

pm me here by Thursday...I'll be going to the track Thursday afternoon.

fasterblkduc,
Do not test ride a Superduke, I repeat do not allow yourself to be talked into riding one. I have it on good authority that in additon to being a very fun ride they take over your mind until the sales contract is signed. I rode Dans a couple weeks ago out here in the ABCs of WI even wearing my tinfoil it was a close call. I was saved only by the complete lack of money in my bank account.

My first BIR track day is over and it was a total blast.  Everything went well and the bike ran flawlessly except a few times running into the rev limiter on the straight at 120 and discovering that I was in 5th!!  Dohhh....   Turn 1 at 120 was remarkably docile.  For me he trickiest turn was 10.
Trackaddix also let us try the new course layout and we did about 5 laps on the short course.  Right after the carousel at turn 8 it goes into a very tight right/left and this section is very tricky.  Actually the guy in front of me dumped it the first time around while the owner and track designer was watching (oops).  This was the area with the most complaints; the rest is tight and twisty and feeds right into turn 2.  The surface was dirty and slippery and not ready for high speed yet.  Some of the concrete barriers are close to the track and can be somewhat intimidating.

Overall the day was  a blast and I will definitely do it again.

[thumbsup] Awesome! I'm glad you had fun. I wish that I could have stayed. Sorry about that.
T10 is only scary at first. Once you figure out that you can take ANY line and carry tons of speed, then it becomes fun.
Are you going to the TA day in Sept.? We'll be there. I'm excited for the new course.

you would be amazed at the amount of speed that you can carry through 10 and bring it through to the straight.  This past weekend I totally threw it in way late at way more speed than I was used to so I could pass a white plate in the turtle and hare on the last lap.  He still beat me by like .05 of a sec but I learned how there are a ton of lines through 10 and had a blast in the race.  10 used to scare the poop out of me and I've almost stacked it there several times including once during the endurance in july when I went all the way to the wall.  Just trust your tires and pitch it in, the faster that you go in the smoother it is and those braking markers are way far back, prob for cars, then you kind of get flung out into the straight where it's all hell to 3.  I'm jelous that you guys got on the new track [bacon]

turn 8 on the other hand is not as fast a corner as I thought. The RC and I say ouch.
