I went to the Dealer yesterday to look at the 08 model. I think I might get in alittle trouble.  [evil]

That or the SM610. Possibly the same trouble or more.  [roll]
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

If you get a street legal motard and only get in a little trouble you're not trying hard enough!  ;D

Any Husqvarna will get you into trouble.  I would avoid the SM610 though.  They are quite a bit heavier and under powered compared to the 450/510 and you don't really get much more in terms of comfort.  The 610 tries to bridge the gap between the SMR 450/510 and something like the Hypermotard but it fails in my opinion.

Just curious, why the 450 over the 510?  Did you look at the Aprilia SXV?  I'm in the "thinking about it" stage."

the_Journeyman

Isn't the SXV crazy on it's maintenance schedule?  I know the DRZ400 is very low maintenance.  How often/intense is the maintenance for the Huskies?

10. Bad decisions make good stories.

I'd skip the Aprilia.  We have a local guy with one and he says it's labor intensive and always acting up.

The local Husky guys have nothing but rave reviews.

Maintenance is easy on the Husky.  One bolt and the tank/fairing/seat comes off.  The valves are shim under bucket.  No more maintenance than a DRZ.

The 450 and 510 are exactly the same with the exception of the stroke.  The 450 is legal in certain racing classes and the 510 is not.  The HP is the same but the 510 delivers its power at lower rpms.

Aren't the maintenance intervals more frequent with the 450/510 than the DRZ?
However, I don't think the DRZ is even in the same class as the Husky's, the Husky's being far more race oriented.

I love my KTM, but it's heavier than the 450/510 Husky's and not nearly as quick. On the plus side, oil changes/regular maintenance intervals are less frequent due to increased oil capacity.

Oh, and one more thing. With any supermoto, tank range will be crap. But who cares?  ;D

supermotards.... meh.
i had a wrf426 that i put slicks on, and they are fun, but mega painful on the highway. any they are slow off the lights... till you're in third they just wanna flip! but if you want to slide the tail they are the bomb :D
