finished fabricating stuff. ugly. but it should pass safety.
ultimately got paranoid after reading too much internets. flushed fuel.
cycled fuel pump with fresh fuel & startron.
put back the DOT bits.
aired tires.
finally after almost 7 months of hibernation, pressed START button.......

IT'S ALIVE!!!

now must get safety check.  >:(

I know that exact feeling with a 999.

Funny, my old 999 is in the back of SS. Dead for over a year now. I've just about shaken off any attachment to it but, somehow, I'd still like to get it to run again. That bike doesn't deserve the crappy life it's had.
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

As much as I hate to say it (as I loved that bike too), that thing is dead.  It would require so much to get back up and running, and that is going on the assumption that the frame is not tweaked too much...

I could go for it, at a proper price (which, of course, no one will agree to) just to get the engine running. Never mind put it back on the road.  :(

If anything like that happened they'd come looking for me right away regardless of these posts.   [laugh]  There may be a way, somehow, someday, but I'm not going to spend too much energy on it.

If just to get the engine running, I gotta think it could power one helluva lawnmower.
