exactly.......been sick for 4 weeks now, other than a y'days run to Bar Italia i haven't been on a bike, don't feel all that good still; likely not to ride next week as well
it just doesn't feel like a safe thing to do to go an a track in this state, as well as i'm going o/s on monday 2 weeks from the track day ......... just don't feel right in my mind, i'm not in a correct frame of mind to go and ride; seems unsafe

mattyvas

Well that's just not good then, best you do as your better judgement says.
What-c-ya doing with the Monster while you're away, need a minder?

Tri bring some fuel you will need it last track day I did over 300km so think about how much fuel she eats when you’re up her :o

Bring a chair, something to eat as Matty said the food is crap .a hat, ear plugs. Bring something to change out of your leather at the end of the day

Your head light is plastic Tri so nothing to worry about.

The track is not as daunting as it’s made out to be lots of people talk it up. Its much easer than you thing. if you run at you own pace, consider you have 10 mtrs of track width to play with and no nasty surprises coming the other way. Just chill and have a great day you’ll love it.

The fact that you ride a Dirt bike is a bonus, I do some dirt work my self and I can tell you if you have ever been to Belangelo State forest doing full throttle on some of the bends and fire trails while your rear wheel trying to over take you, than you have nothing to fear. the track is a walk in the park. There is no one throwing rocks from their knobblies at you as they overtake.

So that was you?  [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]
Seriously, thanks guys I will see you there. Rain Dance anyone?

Should be an awesome day,  I'm looking forward to it. I am gonna trailer everything as well. Less stress and more comfort.

Based on my previous (single) experience, if you are taking a trailer, tape your lights and remove mirrors the night before. Less stress when you get there. .  Umm you may wanna bring Fuel as well :)

People were removing/taping their number plate as circuit breakers.. not sure what the  deal with that was. It's not like there's speed cameras.   ;D

I think you might need to put a bar end cap on as well Tri if you remove your mirrors (not sure if you are allowed to have just the bars sticking out the end of the grips).

Found out why people cover or remove numberplates, to remove possibility of identification of bike by insurers incase of claim  ???

Depending on how far you got with "track day preping" your bike, you can always do a run out to the Shell servo on the GWH around lunchtime. (I've happily done it with a taped headlight and no mirrors, if you're doing to go so far as removing the headlight and indicators and sidestand, this becomes a less viable option.)

Oh, and removing the headlight isn't a bad idea - have you priced up a replacement from Ducati lately? They used to want ~$600 for the complete unit for mine, and didn't bother selling individual bits, unlike BMW who'll happily sell me the same front glass bit as an original Bosch part which is a spare part for a BMW R80 for ~$40...

Just flicking through the paperwork from E.C.R.D they have suggested replacing the Glycol for water and corrosion inhibitor? Is that something I should do? I understand that that Glycol is pretty slippery if it leaks  out ???

That's a hard requirement for race bikes, but I don't think anyone really expects people with roadbikes at trackdays to do it...

Thanks Rob, but I will pass, hate to have the 'Red Mist' decend upon me, and things go pear shaped.

No!  Like Ian said, its a rule for race bikes, not for us blokes tooling around.

I'll be out there about 09:30 and I'm bringing out some bottled water, tools and a stand for the twin swingarm bikes, so if you are not trailering your bike out don't worry about trying to carry those things.
