ive been messing with it for 2 days now, and im completely confused.
fuses check out fine, but when i click left or right nothing happens.
i did see a spliced wire leading to the left side control, and i disassembled the whole thing, and fixed the wire, but still no luck
anyone have any ideas?
its on a 2000 m750 btw
any common fixes i should know about or something along those lines?

figured out that the rear brake foot control, the bolt that holds the pedal, i guess vibrated off a little, and needed some adjustment, so it thought that it was always pressed.
so got the constant tail light thing figured out, now just some help on turn signals if anyone can?
thx bunch

Remove the flasher (three prong relay under the seat), actually, before removing the flasher, turn the key on turn the directional on and see if the flasher clicks.  If the flasher doesn't click check for power at the blue/black wire.  Got no power?  The problem is an open circuit between the fuse box and the flasher.  Got power?  Feed battery voltage to the purple wire and turn directional on.  If the bulbs now light the flasher is the problem.  You can pick one up at ant car parts store.  No light?  Switch or wiring.

To check the switch, disconnect the multiple connector from the switch.  On the switch side of the connector, using an ohmmeter, you should have continuity between purple and white/black for left turn and white/green for right.  If not, the switch is bad.  If you have continuity the switch is good and the problem is in the wiring or (obviously unlikely) all four bulbs are dead.

You may get lucky and be able to fix the switch if you take it apart, but I would locate a new one first.

thx for the reply.
i checked, and there is power going to the blue/black wire...
when i just click the turnsignal switch, no clicks coming from the 3prong flasher...

when i first checked this, the turnsignals didnt work, so i moved the left side control up a little and they started working, then moved it back down and it stopped.  does that pretty much mean that there is something wrong with the switch assembly?

or the harness to the switch assembly it sounds more like.

i got a new 3 prong flasher, same story...no signals
what does this leave me with?
i wanna get these fixed

i dont have an ohm meter...is there a different way to check the switch?

If you have a battery and a test light, test light on = continuity, test light off = open.

Or you could buy a cheapo multi meter from Radio Shack with what you save by not going to a shop.

djomlas

testlight and battery i do have, how would i go about testing this?
thx

Try orange and green for right and orange and grey for left.

djomlas

so ok, i disconnect the wiring harness from the turnsignal and test there? or do i test it elsewhere?
can u explain further please?

Disconnect the switch and test at the switch end.  All you are doing is checking continuity of the switch.  Orange is power into the switch from the flasher, green goes to the right blinkers, grey to the left.  The wrong colors I gave before are on the other side of the connector, in other words, the bike harness.  Maybe you could find someone local with a more experience than you to help?

djomlas

well here is what i did.
i bought a new switch, installed it, all working fine.
i connected it without routing any wires or so just to check if that really is the problem.
then, i put it in place of the faulty one, and now it doesnt wok again.  SOB
i checked the fuse again, good, checked the bulbs, all good, wtf again?
