Taking over the one Toni has is a fine idea [thumbsup]

I'm sure it'll alleviate a lot of paperwork.

I think we should add an annual dinner bash at that awesome Italian place over by TomTom.  Maybe make it a family-friendly holiday event in December?

I'm up for good food, especially exclusively in puggle friendly environments.  [thumbsup]

Sheer knowledge base would be better if we stuck w/ the forums here on the DMF

Agreed. Let's not reinvent the wheel.

Who's interested in making this happen?

I'd help out with event ideas and trips

I'm interested... I'd like more details, especially on time commitments.

What specific advantages would we have by being a DOC that we don't have now?

Just thinking out loud...

Count me in.  I have an idea about an annual event.

One of the local Corvette clubs I'm in sponsors an annual "Southwest" picnic for the entire forum.  They hold it each year at River Legacy Park in Arlington.  People drive in from OK, AR, all over Texas to attend.  It involves cool cars, owners, grilled bugers/dogs, and beer.

I was thinking such an event would be great for Ducati owners (actually, I was thinking a little larger scope - all Euro bikes).

Anyway... like I said, I'm interested in helping make this happen.

Every time I greet you, I can say, "What's up DOC?"  That's a HUGE advantage.  ;)

Better yet, you we can all introduce ourselves as "LSD DOCs".

I don't think the time constraints are a huge deal, it's what we make of the DOC that dictates the time.

The big advantages I can think of are trips out to races (something I for one want to do), dealer sponsored events and swag

6 events for the year would be more than enough and very easy for this group to do

We'd need a Prez, Veep, and probably a Sec as officers

I'm all for it if there are clear advantages, & it does not become an organizational time-suck that takes away from post whoring riding [thumbsup]

What would you want your  DOC to do for you?  Or, what are expectations from DNA as a DOC, GC?

This may seem silly, but my hope/wants would be:
- increase awareness of the club among other owners who may not know about it (get the club's name out in shops)
- increased awareness means more members, means meeting new and interesting people (heck, just look at Tommy and Bonnie!)
- increase awareness and promote safe riding habits amongst it's members, as well as anything that can be done to the community to help rider safety/image/lives.
- overall increased community, commradery, support and good times for the members.

The swag and other stuff sounds good too, but I look at the group of folks we have now and realize that none of what makes this group fun has anything to do with swag, or AMS sponsored events.  It's all about the people.  So the bottom line is, I hope that a DOC would be an effective resource to attract more quality people who share the same (and even new) passions and interests.
