Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

How to establish a Ducati club
Following you will find some suggestions that will help you found a Ducati Club
Check before doing anything (on this site) if a club already exists in your area
If a club does exist, contact and join them
If one does not exist or you aren’t satisfied with an existing club, propose your idea to the Ducati Store in your area with the goal of meeting new Ducatisti and sharing your passion
Find a group of Ducatisti friends that would like to share the organisation of the club
Legally create a club and elect a president
Divide the activities with your “team mates” (the management), in particular the official positions, but most importantly, the duties: some one in charge of member communications, organising gatherings, trips, track days, etc…
Choose a name for your club, create a logo, a contact e-mail and a website where you can share information
Decide on a place to get together as the club headquarters
Contact and meet local Ducatisti and propose what is above and give them the chance to improve the club, accepting suggestions and helpfulness
Work with local Ducati Store/Dealer to help promote club membership and activities
Create a member list and have all members sign the privacy policy regarding use of their personal data

What to do to make the club work

Organise periodical meetings of the management to share information, create ideas and then suggest them to members
Organise periodical meetings between members where they can suggest ideas, activities and conventions. It is important to accept suggestions, especially about improvement.
Organise activities for members (motorcycle rids, track days, tours, dinners or gatherings)
Keep your members informed about all events organised by your club and the special perks from being a club member
Work together, when possible, with the Ducati Store in your area to promote club activities
Participate in other clubs’ activities
Keep the club website updated
Keep the club profile updated and add organised events through the reserved area

Affiliate your club to the D.O.C.
Once a club is created, an e-mail to club@ducati.com with the request for affiliation along with the following information is all it takes:
Club name
Name of representative for Ducati and his or her contact information
Address of the club headquarters
List of members with first and last names, date of birth, e-mail, telephone, bike and registration year
Website address
Club activities, thoughts and plans

You will be contacted as soon as possible and informed if your D.O.C. affiliation request was accepted.

I guess we'll have to start at the top [thumbsup]

I don't know, just having our own t-shirt is pretty cool - who needs "official" recognition from Ducati?  [laugh]

Seriously, I think this is rapidily becoming more trouble than it's worth.  If it happens that we become "recognized" as a DOC, great.  If not, that's O.K. too.

yeah, I haven't heard anything yet that sounded like a worthwhile reason to justify the paperwork & b.s. required. besides, I wouldn't want to be part of any club that would have me as a member.  ;D

Do they want you to set up a corporation?  Setting up an LLC is easy, but this does sound like a little too much for a motorcycle club. I am not saying that you shouldn't do it, but it will be a big hassle for some swag.

I am new here, so feel free to disregard ;D [thumbsup]
