ROFL... If you remember correctly from TOB, I was the one who pointed out that you and the other guy acted like the old farts from the muppet show, that was back when you were "Lawyer".  Next I know you changed your name and avatar.

hahahahhaha.  I didn't remember it was you.  I used to tell it as 'some person' said.....   now I can give you credit for creating 'statler'

awesome.

;D
It's still buy a flounder a drink month

Folks, it's not the bikes, it is us and the Flounders.  Ask anyone who remembers the Ducati Index.

It seems to me that when we had the old Forum , most of us were for the most part very happy to be a part of that community.

Then all of a sudden when we the proliteriate found out that we were being sold out so to speak, we posted a 28 page thread and poured out our emotions about how could this be happening to our happy little Ducati community.

I felt like my best girl had just written me a Dear John letter telling me it was over.

It smacked me right between the eyes. I didn't want to believe it was possible .

It was depressing loosing my Ducati family. I was at a lose and thought about the great times and the times I got hammered for some of the things I had said or done with my bike.

When the new owners emailed me to come back I took a look and Iit made me sick. I couldn't go there .

I had communicated w/ some old members as to the likelyhood of putting a new Forum together but didn't hold out much hope.

Then one day I got word of this DMF link and when I got here and recognized old names and the Flounders and read the rules I felt like I had died and gone to Heaven !

I think many of us are so glad that we were given another chance to be w/ our Ducati friends and we were in on the making of a new entity and we the members were going to make it our own Forum w/ the Flounders at the helm steering us in the right direction without a heavy hand.  Therefore we  ( I ) felt that what was going to make this the best Forum was RESPECT of other members which in turn would mean RESPECT for each individual member.

We have been given a lot of RESPECT and we only need to be RESPECTIVE of each other.

That to me is what makes us  ( DMF ) different from the rest.   RESPECT and a love of all things Ducati.  Dolph

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

I've been fortunate enough to have met a couple DM(L)F'ers since joining in '02.  I've ridden with and welcomed them (sometimes even complete strangers) into my home and vice-versa.  I've made several life-long friends in here!

I'm currently sitting in another members house on the opposite side of the planet from where I live, borrowing bandwidth from a different DMF members wireless network, with yet another DMF members truck that's been lent to me parked outside :-)

In general, I find a _much_ higher percentage of people on here just *ROCK!* compared to "the real world"...

  That is awesome!
I've had longer, friendlier phone conversations with sponsors and board members than with my close friends.
Parts loaned to me. And a thousand helpfull sugestions when i needed them.
This group is by far the best there is. [thumbsup]

I don't know if its limited to americans though. I have a tendency to believe its the folks that set up this place. They treat people with respect and expect others to do the same.

THSAT is whats key; "give respect to get respect" .... oh and a couple of friendly europeans and canadaians too; ah. [thumbsup]
.... all the world is yours.

Considering I managed to walk down Oslo, spot a Monster, and talk to Stopintime for about 3 hours despite the fact he was probably wet and cold from standing out for a while, yes, I'd agree with that sentiment.  [beer]

P.S. normally jetlag isn't bad, but Typhoon Nuri destroyed my attempted sleeping pattern, so I'm currently ~12 hours out.

I've been eyeballing the m696 for a few months now.  I finally  sold my suzuki, so I'm ordering the 696 tomorrow!  I've been reading on this forum for months and have learned a ton about the bike before I've even seen it in person.  It's awesome to have this wide of a knowledge base before you have the bike in your possession!  Thanks to everybody!
