Yeah, I hope the heet will do the trick because it is already 80% better than it was. Thanks again for the help ducpainter.  I'll let you know how it goes.

I'm experiencing the exact same problem. Rain and all... I changed wires and plugs, new tank of gas. The problem seems to come and go now. I'll be adjusting the valves tomorrow as they have not been done. (bike has 7800 miles on it)
If anyone has a new direction or suggestion tia.

Well the Heet must have been the trick because after letting it sit in the tank for about 2 hours the bike runs perfectly now.  I just took it out and it didn't loose power once.  I have probably about 1.5 gallons left so I am going to run it dry and drain it and then fill it with good gas.  I'm not big on additives but should I put some fuel injector cleaner in it with my new tank of gas?

vboulderer- I will let you know if it does it again.

Thanks again for the help all.

Speaking of plug wires-does anyone know of a company that makes a good quality wire that comes in different colors- I'm looking for red.

I wouldn't use any cleaner.

Just fill with gas from a good source.

Very glad to hear that it sounds like a load of bad gas.  Running some HEET in the next couple of tanks full will help to eliminate the last of it too.

As for the FI cleaner, I wouldn't hesitate to run it.  I tend to run a bottle of FI / carb cleaner as a preventative maintenance thing now and then in cars and in my bikes.  I cannot scientifically prove that it works, but it doesn't do any harm.

Pretty weak reasoning, but....

I usually run the stuff in my car but have never used in a bike.  I think I'm going to run a little of the heet for a couple of tanks and then see where I am at.

Thanks for the info.

I do the same, but usually just in the spring in the first tankful.

I don't think it's warranted for this circumstance.
