Ends up I won't be able to make this one  :-X   It's Take Bikes in for Service Day on Saturday; the Triumph is up for a 36K and my 620 is due for its 30K.

Just ignore reports on the news about a string of daring, day-light ATM robberies ... We were out of town
Remember that if, uh, anyone starts asking questions   [evil]   [laugh]

Where is this Starbucks again... without combing five pages of posts?

I got the Starbucks info but I have not paid a lot of attention to the other details of this thread since I thought I was going to be out of town dove hunting. My dumbass alcoholic friend is now bringing his very troublesome, drug taking, sexually active, lying, permanently grounded teenage DAUGHTHER to our annual GUYS ONLY dove hunt!! He thinks this is a good idea. Shows what a dumb make the beast with two backs he is! I am so pissed that I am 99% sure I'm not going now. We've been doing this for 25 years, guys only, it's the only time we get together as a group all year long and he wants to bring his teenage daughter??? I spend 364 days of the year looking forward to this one day! Sorry, I had to vent. I'm so make the beast with two backsing pissed off I can't even see straight. So.... back on topic. Where are ya'll thinking about riding to, meet up time and oh yeah, what day? I really need a distraction right now so I will focus on this instead of my blown weekend. >:( >:( >:(

Man so sorry to hear that. Nothing sucks worse then to have something youve been looking forward to for a long time blown all to hell and gone. We are meeting in Frisco and riding the back roads to Wolfe City and possibly beyond. Here is a link to the preliminary map Frisco to Wolfe City. I was thinking we would end the run at Gloria's on Preston, they have some pretty good mexican food.

Again, sorry to hear you weekend got "thread jacked" but we would love to have you along with us!

Thanks, sorry about the rant, I'm just so damn pissed. I just can't believe the dumbass would even think of dragging her along and he wants me to teach her how to shoot on top of it all! He's the one in the group that NEVER EVER brings anything... every group has a mooch and he's ours. No food, no beer, only his brand of liquor, usually doesn't even bring enough shells!! And now he's going to be expecting for all of us to not only feed his face but also his juvenille delinquent daughter who spends all of time on the verge of being expelled!! Look up teenage trouble in the dictionary and there is a picture of her! Dammit, there I go again!! I need to just get the hell off this board for a while! Bye!!

Hey, what day is this ride???

Riding 2up?  ;D

Felt like I was riding 2up to school with that 50lb backpack strapped to my back.....really I don't know how much it weighs, but feels heavier than 45lb plate- five large books, two large binders, and some other misc. shit - anyway, my traps were burning and I'm not used to riding with so much weight on my back so that took some getting used to when weaving through traffic on 35W and 121........I had to keep telling myself if Rich D can ride with a damn dog on his tank I can handle a make the beast with two backsing backpack!!!!!!     [thumbsup] [moto]

I rode to Dallas - Austin - Dallas with a backpack packed for a whole weekend.  2 pairs of shoes, shirts, shorts, pants, socks, undies, toiletries, tool kit, and cycle pump.  It probably weigh about 15-20lbs, but carrying it over 200miles each way was tiring.  Not to mention getting stuck in return trip traffic in full leathers.  Ouch [bang]

You'll get used to the weight of the backpack soon enough.

Yeah, and I was stuck in traffic almost the whole way home, down 121 and 35W - it is so hard to safely change lanes when you are coasting along and four lanes of traffic are darting in all different directions......guess I'll get better at that too.......still wouldn't give up the bike for the truck despite the heat, backpack and traffic.  The riding part is the highlight of my day! I have ridden every day this week - the monster twice, and the PS today!

Oh yeah, it was last August when I did that ride.  Talk about hot!
