by the dallas PD. apparently i have a warrant out for my arrest. yeah, seriously. i tried to renew my license this AM (i was the first MF'er in line), and was informed that i could not, as i had a failure to appear outstanding. after a call to austin, and then to dallas mun. clerk's office, i was informed that my defensive driving was never received for a speeding ticket from 2006, and a guilty order was entered in my case.
of course, i did turn in the certificate in a timely fashion, along with the notarized copy of my driving record from austin, and i think i remember paying a fee as well. but, they claim none of this happened. so, my recourse is, according to the clerk i spoke to, appearing in open court before a judge. what am i supposed to say? "i totally DID turn it in on time". i don't remember if i kept any receipt from that day... make the beast with two backsing A. so, looks like i'll be sporting an expired license for the hill country trip....great stuff. hopefully i'll still be able to vote with my expired shit; that's what concerns me the most.
The good news is that Dallas rarely confirms on class C warrants. They are not interested in extraditing you from another county at all. Many police depts have a B or better warrant policy.

Hmm good to know! See Jim I told you not to worry!
Sorry Rich - hope you get to vote

[thumbsup] Now he has only to worry about the warrants in all those other counties.... ;) [cheeky]
Okay, now you're talking. Finally, we are a motorcycle club of some notoriety; including warrants, crashes, bar hopping and general mayhem.
Thank you for elevating us out of the whiny bee-atches category.
PS - Did you just get better looking because of your criminal record? I think so :-*
That will not prevent you from voting. You have a voters registration card don't you? Only convicted felons are prevented from voting. Unless there is something you'd like to share with the group? [laugh] The few times I have forgotten my voters reg card and had to resort to my drivers license I don't believe they ever looked at it long enough to look for an expiration date. Just saying... Give it a test. Go try some early voting polling spots and see if they catch it. If they do go try another one. Glad it's important to you! [thumbsup] Hope you get the rest straightened out soon.

All you need in order to vote is to find an ACORN representative, give them a few cigarettes and vote as many times as you wish!
We just need a more catchy name. Ducati Monster Forum isn't very intimidating or threatening.

Don't answer the door for anyone named DOG !! I'll photoshop you a new license ( just like mine ) after THC !!! ;D
For future reference, I would suggest sending items to any gov't agency either certified or return receipt. Have proof that it was sent.
If you're worried about using your expired DL for voting...take your passport. [thumbsup]

yeah...i took it to them in person, though. handed it right to them...and can i get a "make the beast with two backs YEAH" for me finding everything last night in my "box of important shit"... found the receipt of the transaction, etc. along with my copies of the notarized DD certificate and driving record from austin. now i just need to show up one day in open court, and say something along the lines of "your honor, i would respectfully submit that your clerk's office really make the beast with two backsed the pooch on this one, and needs to seriously un-make the beast with two backs themselves and fix my mother make the beast with two backsing file so that i can renew my mother make the beast with two backsing license. defense rests. suck it"
i actually did some searching re: voting, and for texas at least it claims that even an expired DL is sufficient ID to vote. so between that, my voter registration card, and about 20 other pieces of ID i'll be bringing along just in case....you can rest assured that my vote will be counted. [thumbsup]
Rock on with your bad self, McKraut [thumbsup]

Hey,
After the last THCR we are definitely "
notorious" in Bandera county. I personally scored points as a brewmeister to the locals at Koyote, [drink]
and as an official LSD Hooligan to the local deputy. [leo] :P

"Prosecutors claim the Mongol Motorcycle Club, based in California, is a criminal gang involved in murder, torture and drug trafficking."
I guess those of us with cow jackets are guilty of murder, a lot of these posts are pure torture [cheeky] and I know a lot of people were trafficking medications for pain after last week's track day. ;D
Overheard after track day, "I guess you have to be in better shape to do this for a living."
Oh yeah - I saw one of the Dallas Swat units at The Original House of Pancakes this morning and they had an "artist's rendering" that looked a lot like you. Just an FYI.
I got a letter from Austin about 1-2 months ago, saying I never showed up for my court date, so I'm in trouble...
Lawyer says don't worry about that, we got you a really sweet deal, just ignore that letter, I'll give them a call.
Got a letter today from Austin, they say I didn't comply with the terms of the deferral, which was to write them a check for $125 and don't get any more tickets until 1 Nov.
I have a copy of the check and letter I sent them, and a copy of the cleared check from my bank.
Somebody sucks
