I received THAT call from the dealership ;D. First impressions are excellent. The bike weighs very little, it dives into corners with the littlest provocation - those Pilot Power 2CT 190-55 may have something to do with this. The bike is physically large, it´s uber adjustable so I´ll get to that tomorrow. That clock unit needs a week training course in itself. Suspension is very plush.. soft yet firm and absorbs the bumps very well.
I thought the Monster Rs had good brakes.. flippin´ hell!! This bike has the best brakes I´ve ever come across.
The bike is (obviously) being stringently run-in. I can only get up to 4000rpm for the first 500km so that´s 120km/h (75mph).. I´ll post up a real ride report soon.
Some pics, hope you like em.

Thanks.. I know it´s not a Ducati, well it is in spirit anyway [laugh]
Who knew the Germans could design a bike with a soul? Looks awesome! [thumbsup] Ride safe!
Thats a gorgeous machine, just a little outta my price range, but sexy as hell!

Hell, it might as well be a Ducati. If it weren't for the horizontal cylinders, I would've bet you money that Terblanche had a hand in it.
ANd, I mean that in a good way - your bike is gorgeous.
Very nice ride... R1150R?
Love it - although something needs to be done with that rear tail light/license plate holder....
Congratulations, looks really nice. [thumbsup]
I'd flog the snot out of it!
congrats!!! best of luck with it...you're only like the 10th person to have actually gotten delivery, no?
Thanks guys.. I´m finally in love with another bike after my S4Rs. Very happy now indeed, I´ve only had it a few hours though [laugh]
Here is a dyno graph stolen from Motociclismo magazine - May 2008 - 1098 vs RC8 vs RSV1000R vs HP2 Sport. Check out that torque curve!!

That´s one of my favorite bits of the bike - it looks much better in person.

Something like that.. there are 3 in Madrid from what I understand plus 2 that were used in the "Master Bike" test (on loan from BMW Germany), i decided on the bike after I sat on these bikes and had a chance to start them up and to fiddle around with the "cockpit"

You have nut envy? That's a new one.
Awesome bike Kurt. I hope to get a test ride on one this summer.
Beautiful!!!
But you can see I am already partial to Beemers!!! ;D ;D
Tail Chop??
I really like those. Congrats!! [thumbsup]
They had some good results in Formula Xtreme this year as well for such a new racing platform.
Nice looking machine there! congrats!!! ride safe......
Is that a DUCATI? ;D
Holy flippin hell batman!! That thing looks SICK!! [thumbsup]
That's the nicest Monster I've ever seen.
wait...
... sh**?
Nice Bike, I'm very jealous.
Those R sweet bikes. Doing very well on the track as well.
I have a 2003 1150R Roxster. Does that bike of yours pull to the right when U blip the throttle while sitting in neutral ? I dont notice it while rfiding,,, but it is a unique & odd feeling when your not familiar with the bike. 2 different bikes I know,,, mine makes about 90 HP,, & that HP2 makes 130ish.
Hurry up & break that bike in,, I wanna hear more :)
Oh,, any chance of translateing that Dyno to english?
Not bad for a german ;D
Envy are not nice [bang]
Great looking bike. [thumbsup]
Congrats!
I saw that bike at a bike show in Canada. Pics don't do it justice. It is an amazing machine.
Good for you.
It's beautiful. I'd all but kill to have one.
I grew up on beemers and between 1975 and 1980 outran everything with wheels (to include all Ducatis) with a bored out hot rod R90S.
You must feel like a God on the thing. Can't wait to hear about performance once she's all broken in. [thumbsup]
If I had the dough I'd have one. But then if pigs had wings they might fly too. ;D
LA
Congrats!
That is a sweet bike.
Excellent choice, she's beautiful! [thumbsup]
thats a sexy strudel rocket there. nice job you damn krauts. ;D
Congrats, I was looking everywhere for ideas for my second bike. Went to BMW and wasn't too impressed with what they had. They way the bikes looked anyway. Wonder if I can find a dealer that would have this thing in to see it in person. I am thinking of the MV Agusta but I sat on it at the bike show and its the most uncomfortable thing I have ever set on but is sure is purdy.
wow man, congrats. i can't say i like it more than your S4Rs, but she definitely "jumps" out at you with all that blue! you'll have to post up with some riding feedback soon.
Thanks folks.. I´ve just opened up the toolkit this morning, there is no space for anything on this bike, no compartments at all. It comes with a waist bag and the most complete toolkit i´ve ever seen. Also a weird thing - the spare key is plastic and has the immobilizer integrated!!!

It´s bank holiday here today but the girls won´t give me 5 mins to look at it today. Maybe I´ll escape later on today or after the weekend. I can´t ride it this weekend either due to a track day weekend up north (first time as a track monitor!).
If you ever get a chance to ride one, DO IT!

Exactly, it´s got a very light flywheel compared to other boxer models and it´s even more exaggerated. It´s like someone´s trying to pull the bike to the floor.
I´ll translate the dyno results when I´m at home later today.
LA - you KNOW you want one. [evil]
Cheers

so at stop lights, can you leave your feet on the pegs and lean the bike to the left while keeping on the throttle to keep the bike upright?

yeah... and it flies too
If i were on the board at Ducati I'd definitely be keeping my eye on BMW and KTM. Both of those companies have a bright future imo. WSBK next year will be fun to watch.
Nice bike Nutts. I checked one out at a bike show and it seems to be a very high quality bike.
that's just hawt. seriously the best lookin bmw made....
I hate you.
j/k ;D
I'm just so jealous, I LOVE that bike! [thumbsup]
SWEEEEETT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah but will Hitler change his mind about them being a dumper truck? ;D

The more I read about it the more I would love to have one, just have to talk the SO into letting me spend another 13K over of an 848. Yeah right, like that will ever happen.
Hey Nutts. Whats the latest on that HP2 ? Do U have in broken in yet,,,or is it broken. Hopefully not the later.
I would like to see what kind of track times U post on that. Just to see if its easier to make better times on it, or your old monster.
Nutts - you should post a video with sound of it revving :)
SINGLE SIDED SHAFT DRIVEN SWINGARM!!!!!!!!!super cool [thumbsup]
