Title: new fork bling
Post by: DCXCV on May 29, 2009, 09:58:20 AM
2003 GSXR 600 forks installed!

Still have a bit of work to do, but it's roadworthy after many false starts.  Sorry for the dark pic - it's from a camera phone on the shakedown run last night.

I'll add more to this, but briefly:

Still to be done:

If your front end is truly that high now, it must handle pretty terribly w/ the change in geometry.  Monsters have too little weight in front as it is, I can't imagine what yours is like to ride.  Clip ons make all the difference!!!!

Be carefull on that chunky gravel until you get the front dropped!

It's actually not terrible, but certainly feels different.  Obviously it's not ideal, but I'm pretty adaptable.  ;D

I have a GSXR front fender on mine (K4 GSXR forks+calipers). More readily available than Ducati fenders maybe?
And won't require any modification or adapted parts.

+1 on the forks being sort of chopper'd out without clip-ons. I have an '01 frame, so the fork length was very close to stock fork length on the non-ST based frames, and am able to run the stock bar on it.
