Last night I watched The Assasination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. This is a very, very good film! Character development was great, the acting was nearly perfect, and the cinematography was absolutely unbelievable! Even if you don't like Brad Pitt or Casey Affleck, watch this movie for the camera work and scenery. [thumbsup] [thumbsup]

Crap. I forgot the important part... I'm watching 2001 right now. With commentary from the actors playing Bowman and Poole. The Poole actor keeps rambling.
Tough Enough. Dennis Quaid, 1982. He enters a toughman competition and has to fight his way to the top. The event promoters are worried about gov intervention due to the brutality of the show.
Good flick.
just watched Boondock Saints for the first time tonight. Pretty good.
"Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" and "Snatch" - two films by Guy Ritchie

It was something about guys on the frontier..." Me- "oh yeah, Ravenous! That's awesome, like when David Arquette was like 'He was liiiicking me!!!' I loved that" At that point everyone, including my gf, just stared at me. Apparently they're not as big of fans. No westerns, sorry.
There must be about 197 movies in my All Time Top Ten, but my all time favourite unknown, unappreciated, or forgotten movie is:
Terry Gilliam's "Brazil".
I love the quirkiness of it.
And the cast is a fabulous, if disparate group:
Jonathan Pryce
Michael Palin
Bob Hoskins
Ian Holm
Robert De Niro (the best airconditioning mechanic ever portrayed [laugh]).

Sums up about any Gilliam film
Time Bandits
The Adventures of Baron Munchausen
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus
I'm a huge Terry Gilliam fan, which is why I loved this movie:

The Sons of Katie Elder (1965)
something with Marion Michael Morrison.
I just went through all 10 pages and didn't see any of these classics:
Real Men
Ran
Das Boot
Buckaroo Bonzai
Idiocracy
Whip It
Jacob's Ladder
Canadian Bacon
Men At Work
and the oddball Bond flick - On Her Majesty's Secret Service
Don't forget Terry Gilliam's "Tideland", a seriously underrated film (IMO).....

Kung Fu Hustle
Black Dynamite
Kung Fu Hustle is good, but I prefer Shaolin Soccer...
I've been working my way through Metropolis in neflix streaming. They have the version released a couple years ago with a ton of film that was found in South America in 2008. It's honestly not my favorite movie ever, but its amazing the things they were able to pull off in 1927. And it's interesting to know that this was pre-Nazi, and at the same time, you can see how they latched onto it.
Really an amazing film, just from a technical standpoint
Anyone remember the namebof the movie where a bunch of kids are in a future waste land scenario and the blade (old school ones) and the blade to get away from the camp?
In the Name of the Father
Gallipoli
The Thin Red Line
Heaven Help Us
(William was the chronic wanker)
Heaven Help Us Williams Scene (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqLnFJgSXCU&feature=related#)
I second Way of the Gun, Equilibrium, and anything by Terry Gilliam.
I add Six String Samurai... and your favorite band, The Red Elvises.
I'm a sucker for Argentine movies:
"Kamchatka" ...absolutely beautifully filmed.... set during Argentina's Dirty War, the story.... is partly that which is not said.... :'(
Another of my favourites (also starring Ricardo Darin) offers a little more uplifting, comedic amusement: "Nueve Reinas". Love it.
"Historias MÃnimas" is a quirky road movie in which - true to the title - no much really happens.... but I so want Roberto to deliver that damned cake [laugh]. Droll. Probably a little slow moving for many tastes but I like it.
Starman starring the Dude
Almost forgot that one

Thanks for that. [laugh] [clap]
Glad you enjoyed it.
My wife will start it up just for the opening dance scene. [laugh]
It's probably already been mentioned here, but Way Of The Gun. The rest of the movie is kinda meh, but the opening scene is GREAT.
Watching Sarah Silverman get clocked? I don't advocate violence against anyone, and especially not against women. But the way that scene is written? Priceless.
Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence. David Bowie as a British POW playing head games with his Japanese captors.
