No shit. We should do this. And as I know him he would probably insist that we don't. OK, Swanny, we'll call it something else... whatever you want... TX Cross Country racers dinner, Dinner in Honor of S4RS owners who also own S2Rs, etc.. All I know is you are the man around here and have been for a long while. A lot longer than I have been wasting internet space. Your long visit at the hospital with me put you in my hero book a year ago. Hosting the Casino Runs and cookout/race watch party... it just keeps adding up. Your offers to help anybody do anything to their bike at your place. Hell, to say nothing of your 100 hours a week at Brinker last year!! Damn, you deserve a trophy from them! That just says what kind of person you are... as if we didn't already know.

Again, I'm all for this. But getting Swanny to agree to this is the major deal. And dammit that is why we should do this.

Great post Scott! It's time to honor a really good guy who does more in a day than we all do in a month for this group. Hey, we can do this and still make it kinda low key. I know Swanny wouldn't want it any other way. [thumbsup] I'm in, wherever and whenever. [clap]

Gee guys, thanks.  I enjoy hanging out with all of ya and you are all nice folks so I don't mind helping out when I can.

We can get together if you guys want to.  You guys pick the place and time.  Any night after 7 PM would be fine with a few exceptions....June 7th (Wedding  [puke]), June 14th (Dad in town and he is taking me to III Forks! [evil]), June 21st thru 27th (Gotta go to  Denmark to secure the ribs for the next few Hill Country trips! [thumbsup]).  Other than that we should be able to make it.

Again, each of you guys are good people so helping and hanging out with you is a pleasure and honor for me.

At the risk of drawing the wrath of the DRD:

Swanny- post up a night you & Amy are available, & pick a cuisine- Sushi, Asian, Spanish, whatever sounds good, & we'll take it from there.

White Settlement was named by the community back in the 1800s to let people know it was safe from Indian attacks... which were very popular back then. And the vote to change the name was soundly defeated by over 90% of the population and that means all races wanted to keep the name because of it's historical significance not because of racial bias against non-whites. If I remember right the Mayor who pushed the issue on the ballot got in trouble for doing so with the townspeople and supposedly was in a fight to keep his job. It was a very unpopular decision to put it up for a vote. I think the Mayor thought the name was driving off business because people would think the town was racist. Now in the days of "PC" everyone is just so touchy about everything.

Sorry for the history lesson but I had a friend from there and I could tell everyone was putting on their "I Hate White Settlement" hats due to "PC".

Please tell Amy how sorry we are to hear of the loss of her Grandfather. She and her family will be in our thoughts and prayers. Doesn't seem like a day goes by that one of us around here mentions Jen's Dad who passed right before Thanksgiving last year. At least now the things that stand out are the funny, quirky, humorous things he did or said. That's progress and healing. That's the way we should remember those who have passed. The things that made us smile and laugh. Not the pain or sorry that life sometimes makes us go through... just the good stuff. That's the way we all want to be remembered. Hope Amy and her family reach that point in time quickly. Again, our sympathies.

Hey Swanny, I don't think I've actually met you (maybe?) but I already owe you a bunch of "thanks".  Your looking out for the group with the Hill Country munchables was a generous and righteous thing to do.  Kudos to you for that.  There was no need, but you still did it.  That puts you in the pile with the "good peeps".

That being said, It pissed me off when bad things happen to good people.  Tough times for you pisses me off.  I'm officially pissed.

Pull through.  I'll buy you a beer when you get past all this.

Hang in there.  Sorry for the misfortune.

I have no freaking idea how you keep half of our shit straight. It sounds like more free drinks to me... the photo shop work on the group pic is just not enough. I think you have reached nirvana in the DMF (OK, sorry, I have a real problem with that logo... the DMF abriviation has meant something really bad for me for the last 20-30 years. It reeks of Dumb Mother F#@ker, like SOB, TBA, etc. I just can't shake it.) Anyway... back to nirvana... I see free drinks in your immediate future. As it should be! [thumbsup]

Yes, free drinks for the d2R are always recommended. I also accept cash. If everyone on the DMF would pitch in $12.08, I could get this:
http://www.cycletrader.com/find/listing/2007-DUCATI-Superbike-1098-S-92945390/?BAC-Oodle&WT.mc_id=Oodle

Think about it, for the cost of 3 cups of coffee or a hummer from Svoloch you could play a part in making one special guys dreams come true.  [thumbsup]

Damn, I got torpedoed. >:( Two of Jen's friends are having birthdays real soon and the group is having an adult dinner (sans kids) at some restaurant in Rockwall this Saturday night to celebrate both b-days. :P Didn't know about it until this AM. Damn secret plans. Swanny's dinner was moved but not which day, that's all she knew. She has already said it would be a slap to her friends if I didn't go and she would feel like a putz being there by herself. Don't see anyway out of it. They are good folks too. Let me know if there is someway I can help out and contribute in lieu of not actually being there.

She'd better not pull this stunt on Cory or LYD's shindig. Better check those threads right now. Ciao.

i'm downgraded to a maybe for this....here's why:

brandi is turning 30 tomorrow, and her sister is throwing a big surprise party for her on saturday night.  while i would like to attend...i'm not sure if the guy she's seeing would care, or if it would create any awkwardness (brandi and i lived together for a year), and the last thing i want for her at her 30th is the guy she's dating turn into an asshole because i'm there.  it turns out i'm actually going to be catching a bob schneider show at the granada on friday night with her, so i'm thinking i should just count that as hanging out with her for her birthday and just be a no-show for saturday, to be on the safe side.  i would just ask her, but, obviously, i can't do that.  as a note: we were never dating, but things were "complicated" with us for a little while back then...i guess when you're roommates with a girl for a year and you're both single there's a good chance that will happen.

thoughts?  i'm leaning heavily towards hanging out with you guys and saving any drama for your mama.

I agree... avoid the drama; unless of course it's the kind of drama you're looking for in which case you should dive headlong into it with wild abandon. There's no point in doing it half-ass.

OK, I may be back in on this deal... I hope. More secret weekend planning going on behind my back. Need a damn private investigator living at my house to help me sort through all this shit. >:( Seems like the big group b-day dinner party in Rockwall that was on Saturday night has been secretly changed to Sunday night. Jen snuck it on the calender and tried to claim it had been on Sunday "forever" but under brutal cross examination she folded like a piece of paper (just like Colin does! [evil]) and said it had been on Saturday but was now moved to Sunday. Well, thanks for letting me know!

The Isabella bike pic was going to be out the window for me anyway. Besides, ya'll have seen my bike. More importantly this should leave Saturday PM open for Swanny's dindin. Colin will have just come home from a week long Scout camp out so Jen will probably want some quality Mom time with him anywho. Jot me down as a damn good maybe! [thumbsup] Hey, they have a bar now right? Thought I read some reviews where it was BYOB and others that indicated a bar???
