Though we are here to mostly chat about our Ducs, there's no doubt that a great deal of us also have a love affair with beautiful automobiles. So, this thread is dedicated to pics of some of the worlds most beautiful automobiles - past, present, and future.

I actually drove by a car in Vancouver Washington that had a naked spread eagle woman painted on the hood, and a phone number on the tail. I guess it belonged to a dancer of some sort.... Not sure why... But that's what i was expecting when I clicked this.... Lol.
Love the cars.... Is it just me or due all those old soft tops look like ass when they have the top on?

Just busting on ya....I actually have loved the old 1940 Willys since I was a kid and they were only maybe 20/25 years old
here's one more to my liking
(http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee91/visigoth9/1940willys04.jpg)
Actually any of the late 1930's pre-WW2 2-Door Businessman's Coupes were great looking
The old coupes by Plymouth and Dodge were great as were the Ford and Willy's
They were from an era when commerce required traveling sales people roaming their regions on crap roads
and they needed huge trunks and areas behind the front seats to carry their wares and products to the rural consumers to show them
no TV...and America was still pretty rural back then
I love this!!

I think somewhere I have an old Matchbox car that looks something like that....obviously this a modern take on an classic car...I'll have to dig that out and see what it is sometime!
Beautiful ZR-1. Really love the old Vettes.

It's a 1970 Spoiler SCJ 4spd. We have it on the ground now. All metal repair is done, body is primed in and out, underside is finished in chassis black. Looks like it will be wearing a fresh coat of Competition Orange this summer. Still MUCH work to be done but hoping for a roll-out by sometime next year!

Well, I think I got all of them at least once. The front runner had company on the side of the road in the form of a bubblegum machine operator [leo] who gave me a very pointed look as I passed the three I had been playing with at a sedate 10 over (indicated). The three nearby apparently had a radar detector and dropped down to an indicated speed limit. [evil] But as I still had about 500 miles to go that day and I wasn't trying to make new friends [leo] on the roadside, I didn't want to lead them at their cruising speed.

My Sweetie's present to me while in Vegas. Half day rental. it's almost 20 years old. it's slower than a current mustang (and makes less hp). And I loved every.... single..... minute.... no power steering, stiff shifter, challenge of getting the heel and toe downshift just right, dropping down into the bucket seats when getting in, the sound of the motor at 8K right behind you, etc.etc.etc. Exotic cars realy are an experience in a way souped up Ducatis are, but more.

the 348 wasn't loved by the press, but I adored my time with it. Except for the maintenance I could drive one daily (not a spider though... not because I could ever tell the handling difference from a coupe, but because it's clear I don't exactly tan well).

Holy SHIT!!! I think I was behind you yesterday, Monday, while you were driving out through Red Rock and possibly across the pass. My girlfriend and I were headed out to do some mountain biking, and wondering why on earth the Ferrari in front of us was doing 40 in a 50, and why it would go even slower at times, and why the driver keep spinning out the clutch and going nowhere. If you had pulled over where we did, I would have offered you some of my sunscreen, because your head looked RED. Hope you enjoyed your day. Oh, and it was probably the best day over the last 2 weeks to go for a drive, good timing.
But next time, please pay better attention to the speed signs. >:( ;D
Hahahahha. Nope. Friday. And...er... Nope. [laugh]
Weird!! Same car, same area, occupied by a couple, male driver with mostly shaved head, same color shirt. Maybe you burned out the clutch or broke the speedo for the poor sap who rented on Monday.

First of all - awesome gift from your sweetie!!
Secondly, it may be 20 years old, it may be lower hp than a current mustang, but it's a Ferrari.....n'ough said!! ;D

you know... I was actually surprised at the difference that made.
It's in our blood from middle school on as car nuts...
it really was "an event" every time we started it up. every time we got in. every time we hit redline.
I don't care if people don't get it... it felt like riding the Duc ramped up to 11. I loved every idiosyncrasy.
I wonder if that goes away if you own it and use it more often?
Anyone own an exotic here who can fill me in?

It's a TZ3 Corsa.

And rust free too. In certain areas those are highly sought after (and the carcass would be worth far more than $200).

whew, that is just a touch obsessive about a particular year of a particular model. I did read the whole thing though.
BTW, mine being a '77 has round headlights which makes it a "real" Jeep. ;D
and if it ever runs again it won't be a comforting, pampering machine. It will be a terror.

More surprising than that is the fact that some contractor could build a home like this and then put Home Depot track lighting in it. If I even suggested putting lighting like that in one of my clients homes I would probably be fired.

^^^^ Dude! That LS1 powered lil beeotch sounds wicked!!! Hope he swapped out the rear end as well...
Good Miatas can be found cheap, and they are reliable as a hammer. Mine had over 235,000 miles on it when I sold it, and it was either on the track or in an auto-x most weekends, plus my daily driver. Stock drive train can handle up to about 250 HP, so turbo and super charging are solid options. The most fun Miata I have ever driven was supercharged to about 200, had LSD, and the same suspension/brakes/wheels/tires I had. That thing could dance!
An LS1 Miata would likely have the state of NC asking me to surrender my driving privileges.

here is my post about MB ssk's. I wiki'd it so that you may look into this phenomanl car at length. For all of you speed freaks admirers of beautiful things, this is truly one of man's most inspiring creations.
Now before you read the info my grandfather had an SSK which was The Alpine Rally winner in 1929. So what I hear you say......Well once you read the info below you'll understand why my quest to find out what happened to it is a personal crusade. He had the car stolen by the nazi party in the late 1930's , he was jewish. This car is very rare, not sure if it still exists. It did not run when it was taken by the party as spare parts were simply not available to him as he was jewish. It was in his garage in Berlin. My grandparents quickly left and put their children on a kindertransport train to England. Several months passed before the family was reunited in London, the children living as refugees in an orphanage in east London not knowing what had happened to their parents.Anyway, I have been in touch with MB and they cannot find any records surviving for the cars and who they were sold to. The SSK register have been no help as of yet and I am awaiting a reply. These cars are worth millions of dollars and so anyone who possibly has my grandfathers car is not going to voluntarily give it up or probably even admit to owning it. These are the rarest of the rare when it comes to cars, only 40 or so made and only a handful of complete expamples left. Perhaps the car was lost in the extensive bombing of Berlin by the allies in ww2. Anyway.....here is the linky.....

Hope you find it.. I call dibs on shotgun..

My '67 Cougar appears earlier in this thread, but this is the Cougar Holy Grail: The 1968 GT-E.

"On April 14, 1927, the very first series-produced Volvo car left the factory in Göteborg. The model was called the ÖV4 (the Swedish abbreviation for Open Car, 4 cylinders), but it soon gained a new pet-name â€" Jakob.

Funny, we kept saying that the whole afternoon. Was funny to see an Audi a8 next to a Reveton or the Phantom, but who am I to critique your garage.
The owner came out for a little while to see my brother who was in town and he was kind enough to start the Enzo for us. Wow is all we could say.

Most are garage queens. I dont think anyone drives their Reventon, much less some of those that are almost priceless in the auto world. He says he takes each one out to make sure they still "work", and he also puts many in car shows here locally which he drives them too.
Was funny to hear him talk about the Ferrari's. He said each one had an aftermarket exhaust and "modded" somewhat which made me think of our Monsters. Couldn't live with the factory stuff.
There's a Veyron in there that could go virtually unnoticed. That's when you know you've got a good collection.
Since he has the Reventon, let me guess the man's name....is it Bruce Wayne?
That guys collection could give Ralph's some serious competition
