I guess I'll just post the pictures and if anyone has any questions I will do my best to answer them. I still have to adjust the headlight wiring (which is why it still looks kind of sloppy) because I haven't gotten the flasher working correctly.

100% better! Looks good!
I was toying around with the dual headlight over my single 7", I think you convinced me
Keep an eye on those plastic clamps...
Unless they made a bigger size, it looks like you have them tightened down all the way and they WILL break like that...
Yeah, those clamps will crack, ive gone through two sets.
oh yeah I am aware of the brackets and I'll keep an eye on them. Here's another one from the side.

Looks great but would rather see round flashers than square with those lights

Do you happen to remember how you and 2-skinny did the wiring? I was a little confused when I saw that there were 4 wires coming from the stock harness and only three for the custom headlight.
I wasn't a fan of the dual headlight on the classic Monster but I think I am liking the boobies on the new Monster.

+1. the signals are the only things square. Look a little out of place.

The stock harness has a wire for high/low if I remember correctly- the new one may be setup to only run both beams simultaneously without a "high" function.
You may have to clip the after market harness and wire it in with the stock wiring if you want to run one bulb high and the other low.

Interested in selling? ;D
I just ordered a dual, that is how irrational I can be when spending money and buying parts...
Pm about headlight, I'll hook you up

I was originally interested in these ones but they are wicked expensive and I don't think they make them in the M696 fork size.

Also, I had already done a FE using these ones so I was just trying to match
I have the track 77's. They are fairly universal in terms of looks.

I'm really liking the dual setup I did some googling and are these the same as the Monster Parts ones?

If they aren't what size for the fork tube would I need....43mm?
Fork tube size is 53/54mm (tapered on 696 depending on where you mount them). They are the same ones sold on Monsterparts.
*UPDATE*
Before even purchasing the headlight assembly from XPO Streetfighter, I was aware that the brackets/clamps weren't the greatest. The only quality thing your actually getting is the headlight. The following pictures document how I made a custom headlight bracket using some fork collars and 1/8" stock aluminum from Home Depot.
This is the bike with the installation of only a set of lower clamps/collars. As you can see there is the need for upper support.
I cut two 4" pieces of aluminum and rounded the edges using the grinding and wire wheel.
Two holes were drilled and the upper bracket was played on to see if everything fit nicely.
Next, the brackets were removed and primed using some spray paint.(http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y37/Alucardbomb/74a7b6c2.jpg)
Painted using textured spray paint.

Installation of finished upper bracket.

Still not sure if I want to use that hardware, washers, etc. Time will tell.
Definitely get some black metric hardware- and do the reverse on the headlights- allen head exposed, nut on the inside...

I just ran down and grabbed some cap nuts for the end of the headlight. However they had a pretty dismal selection of black hardware. I already have some black allen bolts, just no washers.
Would the lsl brackets i have work

The headlight is threaded... Just run an 8mm allen bolt through bracket into headlight.. Should tighten up no problem and look much better

If the one that I just looked up is the same one you have, then maybe. The annoying thing about the 696/796/1100 is their tapered fork tube. Meaning that the top is 50 mm and the bottom is 54 mm. I have 54 mm fork clamps at the bottom and 50 mm ones at the top.
Dig the dual. Dig the zero 11's, have them on both ends of my bike, hate the lower brackets. Can you duplicate upper bracket and use a small L shaped bracket to mount zeros?

ooooohhh, I didn't realize that.
Have you gotten the parking lights to work on this thing DWS? The little bulbs in there on the bottom half of each headlight? I've never seen them lit up. :(

i probably could but I'm not sure the lower bracket bothers me as much as it does you so it would probably be a waste of my time haha

there was a seperate two wire connecter for the parking lights. they work on my bike, well the one i hooked up does anyway.

the LSL comes with various brackets according to the part # you order.
I have I think 51/53. SBK forks.

All mine had were three wires. One for high beam, low beam, and ground. I didn't see any extra wires.

Double check the inside of the bucket and make sure they aren't inside. There should be a couple of wires for the light. You will have to wire it all up, but they should be there and should work.... Mine do
Not a big fan of the duals. The original headlights might not have been the best things, but duals just don't get it on a Monster. Unless you're going for that Triumph look.

Thanks. I'll take a look this weekend. I did notice that there was a large Phillips head bolt on the bottom of each bulb. Maybe they're stored under there? Are you running the same
Satuga dual headlight from XPO Streetfighter as mine?
Bought them from monster parts... Not sure if same manufacturer, but look identical

I think yours are 3.5" and mine are 4". Also The wiring is different (assuming this photo is the same one as yours). Much more wires coming out of yours, which is why it makes sense that your parking light works. I have just three wires, doesn't make sense to me.

Is the light output better than stock?
yeah they are definately different to the monster parts ones i/we have. maybe they dont have a parking light in them!?! would have assumed they did tho. can u see the bulb in there?

I'm wondering this too.....
ANYONE SELLING STOCK HEADLIGHTS? LET ME KNOW.
Does the spiegler or any other company sell speedometer mounting brackets for newer model monsters?
I'm going to GSG for the headlight brackets, but they don't have anything to mount the speedometer/instrument panel once you remove the stock headlight.

I plan on ripping the ugly ass stock headlight and putting a round on. I was pondering the exact same issue. The guy above had a rather simple solution. Really, a spare piece of aluminum could be coerced into shape and 2 drill/tap holes and you're in business.
